A lovely time to visit the gardens with the spring flowers out. The cafe is always worth a visit with good choices of food and friendly staff.

A lovely park well maintained. Take nuts and feed the squirrels. Added advantage is you can just walk down the bottom of the park to ecclesall road and have lunch after!

The Botanical Gardens are located south of the city. It is easily reached by bus via the Hallamshire Hospital or via Ecclesall Road. It has beautiful gardens, a glass house which houses lots of tropical plants. There is an old bears den situated a short walk from the glass house which children find fascinating. It is an all year garden... More

What a beautiful haven in the city, a place to escape for some peace and tranquillity . Beautiful plants and trees thoughtfully arranged , somewhere to return to time and again to see what unexpected pleasures each season brings. Also one of the best cafes around.

I often walk my dog in the Botanical Gardens. It was late Winter, but a sunny day. The spring flowers had started to bud but the gardens looked sparse in comparison with Summer, as you would expect. Still plenty of very friendly squirrels waiting to be fed & available for close up photo opportunities. Don't forget to visit the bear... More

It's a great place for a walk, especially when it's sunny. Perfect for a nice picnic and the squirrels aren't shy.

Free entry! Always well-kept, with all-year enjoyment and interest with different seasonal plants.. Excellent greenhouses. Easy walking and strolling with good paths. Space for picnics, good tea room and for all ages. Nearby parking would be the challenge.

I've not been back to the gardens since its extensive work was undertaken nut I was not disappointed. Still as majestic and colourful as I remembered. Even in the colder months.
