Went as a big group and sat by the water sports area which was fascinating to watch. Some of the group went on the water and had a good afternoon. There was a licensed bar area too, so went and got drinks to have with our picnic. Had a walk around the park which has some lovely views. Great for... More

I visit all year round. I walk in bad weather but cycle mainly. Its a great oasis and watching the seasons change there is great! on the whole it gets too crowded in the summer weekends. lots of things to do for all ages. I only pay to get on when with the family for bbq's, picnics and the like,... More

This park is very popular with families so expect there to be lots of children and dogs running free. The route around the two lakes is crowded at busy times and can be dangerous when cyclists race around, weaving between kids and dogs The two main lakes are crowded in the holidays and there's always some event or other taking... Short sited action by Rotherham Council, charging £5.00 for parking whether it's for 10 mins or 10 hrs ! Government health services trying to encourage healthy lifestyle but these charges prohibitive especially for those with limited income! Why not charge by time so those just wanting a walk are not paying "the earth". It is not as though RBC are... More

This excellent parkland is my childhood playground. It was known 60 years ago as "The Meadows" & consisted of swamps & derelict railway bridges. It was an exciting place to have adventures. It is the same today but in a different context. Now it is organised, safe, & well maintained. The old mill is converted to a small but informative... More

Not only is this on my backdoor, but it where i have had a lot of childhood memories. Brilliant place to take children to feed the ducks and to even have a BBQ or picnic! They have watersports there too. It is brilliant for long distance running as a full lap round both lakes is 5k and its not a... More
