Great little bar with some really good music acts. Very welcoming staff and locals. Highly recommended

Genuine Neighbourhood Locals Bar
Oct 2016 • Couples
My wife & I visit the Junction every week. If you like smart, plastic places, avoid. This bar is a little grungy, quirky and full of character (and characters). The locals and staff are all really friendly and welcoming. Tony, the manager is particularly awesome and makes everyone feel special. The beer is always super fresh and the Stella is the best anywhere! The tunes from the duke-box are also great and very eclectic.

Please avoid on early Friday evenings, as we don't our favorite bar to be suddenly rammed!

Love this pub tiny and Turkish run. Great atmosphere and the sort of place you want to gaze around in. All walks of people and very friendly. It doesn't look like a bar from outside though just another shop in the parade

The reason I downloaded trip adviser app

So I was looking up the opening times and saw UTJ on here and thought it deserves more than the current 2 reviews. It's a fun, casual, quirky place with friendly customers & staff. It is not glamorous but if you want to try something a little off the beaten path this is the one.

Awesome little bar when you don't want to go into town
Aug 2015 • Friends
The type of place where its intimate enough that everyone just mixes and chats. There is a jukebox where you can put on pretty much any tune that you could want. Great atmosphere, and the manager Tony is awesome, great bloke. Been going there since my uni days so around 10 years or so. Just a nice night to spend with friends, when you don't want the busy bars and expensive prices of town.

Up The Junction Bar is AMAZING
Aug 2015 • Friends
I have been visiting the Up The Junction bar for over a decade - since I first moved to Reading. It has always been a great venue for a night out but at the moment it is absolutely fantastic. In my opinion, it is one of Reading's finest independent bars with great drinks, reasonably priced and served until 4am nearly every day. The staff and the owner are very friendly and accommodating (as are the regulars) they have a great range of beers, spirits, wines, shots and even the odd cocktail, it has one of the best juke boxes around + a back room for functions which has a fantastic sound system. What's more, they've started doing live music every Wednesday giving local artists and musicians the stage for the night. I can't recommend this place highly enough. They even have a late night eatery, right next door. Perfect!
