....for kids to enjoy themselves. Only negatives on this visit, is there is no hot water in the gents toilets ( been like that for a while now) and the tables are just too close to each other. Apart from Covid issues etc, there is just no space once people are sitting down, people constantly bumping into each other. So lose some tables and give people some breathing space !!

Just left a 3.00-5.30 session and I have to say that I’m disappointed. The price was great but there wasn’t alot to do for babies/toddlers, just a few bouncers in the middle of the toddler area. Went with a 9 month old and was surprised at how dirty everything was! Anything made of fabric was covered in stains (nearly black stains so obviously haven’t been cleaned in a long time!) and buttons had dirt stuck in them. We had to constantly stop our little one from putting anything in her mouth. A lot of toys were broken, missing or just didn’t work anymore (no batteries maybe?). The place itself was alittle sad looking with no music playing and decals on the wall torn or peeling off. Such a shame as we travelled specifically for this but it was just so dirty that I’m not sure we would go again.

Wonderful afternoon had by all.
Centre was spotless, everyone wearing a mask and following social distancing.
Time slots are wonderful, will be back soon my girls aged 9 & 4 loved it!
Thank you Mad House team

First time here and probably not the last. Little one had a great time. Even though it was a public holiday, it was not heaving: maybe around half a dozen other families - hence a more pleasant experience.

A lot has been mentioned about the cleanliness levels, etc, and it was comforting to see staff walking around spraying things with disinfectant. One observation was that some of the toys in the toddler-only area (especially the cushioned seats in the bouncers) could definitely do with a cycle in a washing machine - they had blackened with time due to accumulated dirt. So we kept our little one away from those.

Visited for the first time since lockdown began.
Whole place looked spotless, felt very safe environment for myself (7 months pregnant) and my 2,5 yr old.
Very young team (some not older than 16/17 I would say) who all wore face coverings and re-enforced the mask-wearing rules with everyone that attended.
Young lad was constantly cleaning areas and all staff were friendly and extremely professional! What an asset to have staff like that!
We were politely told our session was over, which I believe meant they could do a 'deep clean ' ready for the next session.
Great morning for my little one, not too busy, and the drinks purchased were lovely and well presented.

Well done!

I went on Friday 21st of August in the 9:30-11:30 time slot and it was brilliant!! Through the whole two hours I was there a girl was cleaning away, wiping tables, collecting washing up, serving customers and also asking customers to wear their masks! She only looked about 15/16. It is very safe for the children during this pandemic when they have staff cleaning a lot!!! I am very impressed!

its a good place to take the younger children for a fun afternoon, older ones not so interested, and little to occupy them

Visited here on a Sunday morning got here for about 10 o’clock Open at 9:30 Where we were sat with one of the sofas rubbish on the floor A latte cup was on the floor dry as a bone obviously not picked up from the day before my Granddaughter kept picking up rubbish from off the floor where there is no way it had been hoovered the day before toilets are disgusting There is a sign saying about ceiling but that noting no hot water to wash your hands bought a cup of tea and the milk jug had All dried up crusty milk around the lip of the jug Read the reviews apparently it has a deep clean once a week read the reviews apparently I have a deep clean once a week if that is the case of the need to be looking to do it he’s doing a deep clean so Expensive to get in for 1 1/2 year old over £5 for 2 hours it sad that these places charge so much knowing you have no Choice when it’s miserable weather outside only came here because we were at this way in Reading the soft play we normally go to only charge of £2.50 For 1 1/2 year old so won’t be coming here again needs a good clean up .

Thank you for visiting. We are disappointed you felt our usually high standards were in this case unacceptable. We would like to address each of your concerns in turn. Our staff fully clean the facility every night which includes hoovering the carpet and wash down hard floors. We are one of the cleanest soft play facilities in the area so would dispute the fact your granddaughter 'kept picking up rubbish' especially at 10am. Unfortunately children will constantly drop things everywhere and we are not geared up to follow each child around. With almost 300 visitors on Saturday, it is possible a cup may have been left behind a sofa where it was not visible unless you were seated on the sofa. You claim the toilets are 'disgusting'. As signage explains, we have had a leak and await remedial works however can only do so when builders are approved and available. All toilets are fully mopped and disinfected every night so unless a child has had some 'fun' in the toilets so early in the morning, we would have cleaned up any other messes. All our food and beverage equipment is washed and cleaned daily in accordance with best practice, hygiene standards and local regulations. Again, we would dispute the validity of your statement about 'crusty milk' especially as the milk would have been poured into the commercially washed container at 9.30. With over 1500 visits during the half term week, we know standards can drop due to sheer exhaustion. However, they will not drop to the level you have suggested. Dust is always an issue, in every single establishment. What you have photographed and shown is non-access area which is cleaned weekly. You have just caught it before it is cleaned. Again, this is a non-access area under the play structure. As for pricing, we are proud to keep prices as low as practically possible. As parents ourselves, we know all about financial pressures and pride ourselves on being a low-cost service provider. When you consider a cinema ticket costs almost £10, we are comfortable with our prices. We thank you for visiting and whilst we appreciate your feedback, we must clarify the circumstances for other TripAdvisor users as this platform does not always provide an accurate picture.

Hi Holz3434. Thanks for reviewing our centre. We would like to highlight that all the balls in our ball pit were recently given a professional wash as we as parents, also want to ensure everything is as clean as possible. We have also in the past received an award for having the cleanest ball pit in the area. A deep clean is once again scheduled where we will be closing to the public for the day, ensuring everything is ready for our little guests. This has been a severe flu season with many children harbouring viruses for days before the symptoms are fully shown, unknowingly contaminating surfaces wherever they go. We do however feel it is a little unfair to provide the rating you have when there is no evidence showing the sickness was caused by your visit. Whilst we are sympathetic to your little one falling ill, we have many children using the facility (hence the regular cleaning schedule) and no one has informed us of any illness caused by their visit. We hope your little one feels better and one day, you will visit a soft play again.

I took my 2 year old grandson today. The play area was fine and he enjoyed the toddler area. My only issue was with parents who allow older children over 4 to go into this area and I saw boisterous older children knock over smaller ones.
My main issue is the wholly inadequate parking which is highly dangerous.
Spaces were too narrow for cars with children in car seats. And those dedicated to this type of visitor far too few in number.
The car park is used by other local business too. So Mad House space is not exclusive. However Mad House visitors would typically have small children and pushchairs. Unless they found space on the ground floor access to Mad House was by going down the car ramp without any walk ways dedicated to pedestrians. One car passed me driving at at least 25 mph going up the ramp.
There was a stairway but it was a spiral type and blocked off. This would be of no use to pushchairs.
Signage in the car park was inadequate and cars going the opposite way to the limited signage frequent.
I would not use this venue again unless there was appropriate parking provision. That's a shame because its not the Mad House that supply parking despite 100% of visitors likely to arrive by car because of its location
