Much improved transport interchange on a particularly poor Network Rail station. The huge and lengthy investment in preparation for overhead electrification, as well as the Elizabeth line.
The station is vast and anyone changing here must be careful to allow quite lengthy, and not always well signposted change of train services.
The new facilities are an immerse improvement, with many facilities at lower level on the "island" platforms as well as the new bridge / concourse level.
It really pays to know where you are going and what / which time your train leaves from.

As stations go this rebuild was a very good one. Pub on site, food available and lots of concourse space and info boards.

This is an impressive station that has been modernised in recent years. Access is very good with many escalators and lifts and signage is clear.

The automatic announcements in the female voice are of appalling quality, they sound like a broken, dismembered robot echoing throughout the station. Truly awful. The rest of the station is fine.

Certainly improved over the and had become a bit of a hub. Very busy but easy to navigate with plenty of outlets. Access around the stadium is quick and the whole place is bright and clean

Clean modern well-ordered station. I was here on a Rail Rover for a week, so used the station every day to visit different places along the Thames Valley. Easy to find your way around, clean toilets and helpful staff. An M&S shop and WH Smiths available to buy food/snacks.
Only negative thing was that it was not possible to get ANY pocket timetables! (COVID being the reason/excuse). Not good for those who do not have/are not able to use a Smartphone (and even then you can't look at a big table of times on such a small screen). PLEASE PLEASE - GWR & the other Rail companies, bring back the printed timetables as soon as you can. Printing off the Internet from Websites involves carrying around a lot of heavy A4 sheets of paper (assuming you have a decent printer, Internet etc).
Not really the Station's fault, but the Rail companies!

It’s no more than couple of hundred yards. Walk to the front of tour train, then carry on to the escalators , ride up, walk across to 11 and ride down. Tickets are only sold for reasonable connections - 10 minutes is enough
I can’t put links in here but google “reading station map”

How will I know that I am boarding the correct carriage on the GWR train to Bath from Reading Station. Are the carriages clearly marked according to where my seat is located? I don’t seem to see a CARRIAGE number on my ticket that I purchased on line, I do see a seat number.

Is there a link that I can access before arriving at the READING station that tells me in advance what platform should I go to for my train to Bath UK . I’ll be coming from Heathrow by Bus. I purchased my ticket on line, but I see no information other than seat and carriage.

Hi it depends on the time you're going. You can check on nationalrail , put in Reading to Cardiff and then select the time, the search comes up with all the times and platform (some trains say platform 12 rest are platform 9).
But always worth checking when you get to the station as they often have platform changes due to rail works- or if a train breaks down/ train delays on other services

It's less than half a mile, so 10 minutes should be plenty of time
