Informative and relaxed
Nov 2019 • Couples
Had this experience bought as part of a wider birthday present which involved a weekend in Oxford

We were made to feel really welcome and soon settled down with fellow ‘students’.

We were informed that lots of people take the course, from complete novices to experts.

Our tutor Fred was extremely knowledgable , friendly, relaxed and professional. Some of the slides could have been slightly updated and the deck was clearly not designed by him (I think he was filling in) but with his excellent knowledge he was able to talk in depth around any questions posed.

The food provided was exceptional and kept coming which was a bonus and helped to soak up the alcohol !

A lovely day and great addition to the wider weekend experience and surroundings of Oxford.

Gin Gin! Great afternoon with the team, tasting and learning all about gin. Thanks Nick

As Office Manger to a fab PR team in Oxford it's my job to think of different ways to entertain them all. This was the perfect choice, Nick coped well with our large gathering so professionally, the gin and fancy treats we dressed each drink with worked and tasted amazingly.
I would certainly recommend this event to any other company that likes having fun with an element of learning with their colleagues.

I took four week course where I learn to look at wine differently. I started noticing things about it and appreciating it much more thanks to the course. Thank you.

GIN TASTING IN CHELTENHAM WITH OXFORD CHELT WINE SCHOOL
Apr 2019
As part of my daughter's hen last weekend, we were very lucky to experience a Gin Tasting Evening with Fred from the Oxford Chelt Wine School. What a fabulous experience this turned out to be. We were an excited party (especially Bride to Be) of 13 ladies who were charmed by the professional, friendly Fred. We tasted and learned all about six different flavoured premium gins from around the world including one made in our locality of Wales - which was beautiful. Fred introduced us to gins we had never tasted and to the lovely sloe gin which was a few of our parties' favourite. Fred encouraged us to add either a slice of lemon, lime, rosemary, bitters and even chilli peppers to a particular gin whose taste would be a little enhanced by the particular addition. Fred was very interesting to listen to when telling us how each gin is made.
Along with the opportunity of drinking all these lovely gins, and the ones some of us were not particular on, a surprise came when platters of food appeared as we did not know 'food' was included.
What a great 2+hours we had. Great fun, fabulous gin, lovely food and georgeous Fred. What more did 13 Welsh ladies on a hen weekend want. A great experience we talked about all weekend. Well done Fred!

A great environment for learning more about wine

I recently completed the WSET Level 2 with The Oxford Chelt Wine School and would highly recommend them if you want to gain further insight into wine whether that's for personal or professional reasons. Both Nick and Lawrence were incredibly knowledgeable and used a very engaging style that has only furthered my interest in the wine industry. Having achieved my Level 2 thanks to them I will now look to undertaking the level 3 course with them as well.

I went on the 8 week world of wine course in Cheltenham and cannot recommend it highly enough. At least 6 different wines were tasted each week, with really interesting facts and notes about each one. Nick struck the right balance between teaching and having fun, I was really disappointed for it to end!

A relaxed evening spent drinking nice wines and understanding why nice wines taste nice. Do not be put off by the concept of wine-tasting; there is no over-indulgent use of wine-speak and I like it or I do not like it is quite adequate. A convivial atmosphere in good Cheltenham surroundings.

Enjoyable way to learn about wine
Mar 2019 • Solo
I recently used the Oxford Chelt Wine School to do the WSET level 2. The course was run over 3 Sunday’s, with around 16 wines tasted each week. The tutors Nick and Lawrence were both very knowledgeable and they made the course very informative and enjoyable. I would recommend this company and intend to do level 3 with them when the opportunity arises.

Thank you, Nick, for spending the time to write a review, it is much appreciated. And you are very modest, having passed with distinction! I will keep in touch about when the next Level 3 course is held and hope you can join us. Best wishes, Nick
