We just had the most extraordinary private walking tour of Oxford. Our guide Ashley is a local resident and graduate of New College. We were treated to so much that most visitors don't get to experience. It was the "connoisseur's" tour given by someone who is very passionate about the history and importance of this remarkable institution and city. I booked it through Benjamin Firman of Oxbridge and specified our interest in the historical aspect and Ashley certainly delivered more than I could have imagined. We visited all manner of hidden places to get little jewels of information. As we are here during Awards Week we were right in front of Balliol when out came a string of students in their robes who walked across the street to the Sheldonian Theater for their graduation ceremony,a real Oxford experience!

A very helpful organisation gave us the excellent Konrad as our guide on a comprehensive and informative tour around the Colleges and other landmarks of Oxford. He kept to our specified requirement which was for the history of Oxford and its Colleges as we had already explored the cultural aspects of the city. Yes you pay for the "one to one" format of the tour but it is well worth it as you can focus on specific areas of interest and have the guide entirely to yourselves. Many thanks (from a Cambridge couple) for an enjoyable experience of "the other place"!

I took a group of international students to Oxford for this tour and it was fantastic. Our guide, Fabian, was extremely knowledgeable about the various sites we visited and his enthusiasm for the history and culture of Oxford was infectious. The students were fully engaged and had a great time (as did I).

Excellent tour. Our guide, Jess, was enthusiastic all the way through it and kept a group of 13 teenagers interested for an hour and a half (which is not an easy task by any mean). All the explanations were very comprehensive and Jess gave us so many anecdotes it was almost ridiculous. I'd definitely recommend that tour, and if you can have Jess walk you around Oxford then all the better for you!

An absolute highlight of our trip to Oxford. Our guide, Tim, was outstanding, very knowledgeable and gave us a succinct summary of the history of the city. He showed us the main points of interest, knew more than just text book stuff so had interesting 'extras', was enthusiastic and a great communicator. Could not have been better for us. Could have wandered around with a guide book and never gained nearly as much. This outstripped most 'guided tours' I have had. First class.

a really interesting tour guided by Konrad, who I think is local to Oxford and attended one of the Universities for a while. Konrad was on time at the gates of Balliol college, over the road from the Tourist info shop (we were a bit concerned about being in the right place but needn't have worried). The tour was supposed to be 90mins, but we didn't notice til afterward that it had over-run, as it was very entertaining and informative. Konrad was always easy to hear and understand and obviously knowledgeable. I've made some notes about places he pointed out to re-visit on a future date. Well worth the price specially as we got it for just £9.50 using a Groupon deal, also worth an appallingly uncomfortable ride on a nearly new but very uncomfortable local bus from the Park & ride

We had visited London previously, but had never made our way out to Oxford. This turned out to be a great day, with a pleasant train ride out from Paddington Station and a walk through the town of Oxford (grittier and not as green as I expected it to be) before we met Konrad, our guide, at the assigned corner. (If you are like the other members of my family, you might think at first you are in the wrong place, and should be joining in with a group down the street. Don't worry. Konrad will be there on time.) Konrad was a wonderful guide, and seemed to tailor his presentation to the audience. My background is in theology, and he made it a point to show us the Divinity School. It was a whirlwind 90 minutes of sights and sites and history along with an orientation to the university system at Oxford. He helped us see what a fascinating place it is!

My sister booked a walking tour of Oxford as a Mother's Day present, so we spent Mother's Day with our fab tour guide Konrad. We have lived locally for years but Konrad was able to show and tell us things that none of us knew before. It was lovely to see the peaceful, quiet spots around Oxford and the time flew by despite it being a super cold day.
Would recommend this tour for anyone who wants to see and learn more about some of Oxfords most beautiful sites in a relaxed and friendly group with a knowledgeable and approachable tour guide. Suitable for people who have never been to Oxford before or who know it well.

Having Laura guide us around the historic building made all the difference, we learned so much. Information like the black board that Einstein wrote on during a lecture has been preserved, that all the books published in the UK are archived in Oxford etc. I would definitely recommend Oxbridge Tours because they were helpful and everything went as planned.
We asked for a student who had a background in psychology ( which is our background) and Laura was able to fill us in on the academic system in Oxford which gave us an idea what it was like being a student in this beautiful environment.

Daniel was our guide for an hour and a half. He was a Masters student of Byzantine History with great enthusiasm for his subject and for his Oxford experience. This added such value to the tour. He showed us inside colleges and around the beautiful grounds and showed us some quaint Oxford streets including the old red light district. Finally he advised where we could go for lunch. I would recommend the tour and would encourage my daughter to visit and tour with this organisation. Also the park and ride to Broad Street makes this tour very accessible.
Thank you

Hello, I have a few questions. What is the whole cost of the guided Oxford tour? Does it include access to University of Oxford or other universities? Can I choose tour guide in advance? How many people could join the tour? How long does it take? Is it possible during weekends? monikaolma@gmail. com
Regards,
Monika

I understand it to be usually £10 per person, but can depend on source of sign-up; does include visits to some colleges; cannot choose own guide (they're all good); some only for 4, our group was 20; 90 minutes long, seems shorter; we went today (Sunday).
