Being from Boston, Oxford is reminiscent of Harvard in Cambridge, MA. It's great to catch a glimpse inside the different areas which are closed to tourists but enough doors randomly open for a peek. The town itself is also attractive. There's a real sense of history there. Get a good guide to really explain what you are visiting.

David led a short tour for a small group of us attending a course hosted in one of the colleges. He did an excellent job of tailoring his commentary to the common interest of our group, and although we didn't stray very far from our college we learned a huge amount about the history of the university and its buildings,... Do not miss the opportunity to spend a day or at the very least an afternoon in the company of David Gunnell. Not only is he exceptionally well informed on all aspects of the history of Oxford but also he has a lovely sense of humour and is delightful company. He really made the day for my friends and myself... More

All you expect from a City with the heritage of an old University City. Truly unique buildings housing amazing historical items. And great anecdotes to be gathered to relate to your friends. Great coffee shops too to stop and watch people from every possible nationality.

My husband and I had a private tour with David Gunnell. He is a most excellent tour guide; so knowledgeable and interesting. He also is one of the nicest gentlemen that we have ever had the pleasure to meet. We learned so much about the history of Oxford and the culture surrounding the beautiful buildings. Our tour was four hours... More

In a group of around 20 from my company. Toured Oxford for about 90 minutes pre-dinner. David made the tour, he has a fabulous style, appealed to a diverse group of people and oozed knowledge. I got the feeling that 90 minutes could easily be 90 hours there is so much to learn about this city. 100% recommend.

So full of amazing history around every corner. Our unplanned visit was a couple of nights camping on a tour we were doing which ended up in Milton Kynes at the bowl. We soon spent more time in Oxford exploring more of this place

Can there be a better way to get oriented to Oxford? I doubt it. David Gunnell is the single best tour guide I've encountered anywhere in the world. His wit and good will delighted my students and colleagues alike. (I booked Oxford City Walk for a 50-person study abroad program that I run.) David knows so very much about the... More

A group of 15 of us went on a walking tour as part of our team building day. David had been highly recommended to us by another part of the business who regularly book him for walking tours. The tour was GREAT! We had asked for our tour to be slightly different, and this was done perfectly. David is so... More

I had an excellent day tour with guide David Gunnell as part of a National Trust tour in May 2016. David was simply the best guide we had in the entire trip. His Oxford walking tour was wonderful, educational but never dry, informative & entertaining- and this was our 5th trip to Oxford! He really made our experience memorable- thank... More
