Good atmosphere & service, average food

Friendly staff and lovely atmosphere but pretty average food. Ordered a Caesar salad for £10 which had way too much meat to salad, chicken was dry and salad bland. My partner... read more

Had an amazing meal and dessert here, the steak was cooked to perfection with very friendly staff. Thank you so much for adding the wonderful experience to my time spent at Oxford.

We were told of the history connected to this old pub by our tour guide and decided to visit and have dinner there. Saturday night, so it was packed and had a bunch of very drunk young men playing drinking games, but that is tolerable. The food was the big let-down. My fish pie came almost cold and so I... More

Friendly staff and lovely atmosphere but pretty average food. Ordered a Caesar salad for £10 which had way too much meat to salad, chicken was dry and salad bland. My partner ordered a pork roast for £13, small serving, and overcooked pork. Pricey for what we were given and have found better food for cheaper prices at other pubs.

visited on a busy Saturday lunchtime, was surprised to find a table but we did. Busy pub but the food was great quick service, tasty food. Only downside was the football fans outside on the benches chanting we ordered the fish and chips (lovely crispy and hot) kings arms burger and nice size and tasty, bacon and chicken pie (massive... So happy to come across this pub on a cold day out in Oxford with our dog. We were having difficulty finding a pub that would allow us in with Holly. This pub has a lively atmosphere and broadcasts sports but also boasts a number of cozy little rooms where you can get away from the action and relax away... More

Very friendly staff members. Delicious prosecco. Good food. Always busy and vibrant, a true staple of Oxford.

Big pub with few rooms, great for meetings with friends. We had some beers and food there. However I would not have food there again. We had jacket potatoes with filling and salads. Potatoes was quite hard inside instead of fluffy, and the salad had vinegar dressing that overwhelmed all the flavors. Not very tasty.

Busy due to Degree Day celebrations but ducked in for some soup on a cold day and was served quickly. Managed a table and a couple of pints and enjoyed seeing the grads in their formal attire and colorful robes. Nice local place and not a chain pub. Would love to return for the Devon crab. Cheers!
