Lovely little pub.

Came in for quick drink to escape the rain, had coffee and beer and then decided we’d have lunch. I overheard the landlady and a customer talking about a Bunny Chow, so curiousity got the better of me so ordered, well it’s the best lunch Panini iv had . What is it? Chicken curry inside a large panini type bread, with the lovely roast potatoes of which I gave a couple away, it was a very tasty and filling lunch. Hubby had his favourite Fish&Chips said it was OK. Nice pint good food and nice chat with landlady and staff what a great way to spend a couple hours sheltering from the rain. Oh and some Morse and Lewis photos too.

lovely old pub
Sep 2018 • Friends
This is a lovely old pub in the centre of Oxford. I enjoyed a pleasant couple of hours here with a friend, drinking ale in a cosy, convivial atmosphere whilst the rain fell outside. I noticed a lot of other visitors were from overseas, and I thought what better place to enjoy an authentic English pub

The perfect place to relax
Sep 2017 • Solo
This warm and atmospheric pub dates from the 16th century when it was used as a recruiting center for the Royalists during the Civil War. The interior is rich in dark beams, old paneling and framed pictures on the walls. Some scenes in the “Inspector Morse” and “Endeavor” were film here. I think it is the perfect place relax, have a pint or a glass of wine and discuss your day in Oxford or perhaps its rich history. I only had wine, so I can not address the food at this establishment. One word of warning; the pub is relatively small, so seating is limited. Fortunately, I was able to secure a table. Since it is on Broad Street, it is highly visible. I recommend that you swing by when it opens and ask what time a day is best to find it less crowded. I believe it opens at 11 AM.

Morse fan?

If you're a Morse fan, you can't not go here. Atmospheric, warm, friendly. Very British, and a good place to examine your Blackwell's purchases.

Historic pub

The White Horse is located in Broad Street and serves an awesome fish and chips dinner along with other foods. Great old English pub that has a cosy interrior. A great place to eat in Oxford City centre and totally recommend.

Lunch at the White Horse
Aug 2017 • Friends
Stepping into the charming White Horse is like going back in time. The White Horse dates back to the 16th century and is a traditional English pub. They have a nice selection of beers and good food. The White Horse is centrally located in historic Oxford. It is small but cozy and a great place to stop in for a meal and a drink.

Had a lovely meal here - beautiful, quaint, tiny pub oozing history!! Difficult to get a table because it's always full but worth the effort.
