    Lovely Garden
This is a lovely garden, and I would imagine being at its most beautiful in Spring. We visited in early Fall, and it was still colorful. This is across the street from the Alice in Wonderland Shop, and also the entrance to the Meadow Gate (where one enter’s the tour of Christ Church College).

My wife and I were thankful to stop off on a pleasant day at this beautiful memorial garden in the centre of Oxford. Well set out and maintained, the garden is located on St. Aldates and is a wonderful memorial dedicated to all that gave so much from the University of Oxford.

    Приятный садик
Садик для фотографий. Идеальная перспектива и ракурс на Оксфорд. Приятно, что вот так чтят память своих героев.

This memorial garden at the west end of the meadow is a lovely little garden area. Very well kept and considering the number of people passing through reasonably quite. I always think gardena reas are a great place/idea as a means of tribute. Worth a visit for 15 minutes quite time.

A very moving experience where yesteryear seems to come to life once more! The grounds and architecture are simply amazing.

Very close to christ church meadow is this memorial garden which is really beautiful and well maintained. with old beautiful architecture buildings in the background. The old buildings are retained to this day, which adds beauty to this place.

This elegant garden commemorated the Christ Church College dead of World War One and perhaps now more broadly memorializes the University's war dead. The designers and gardeners show close attention to suitable plantings and painterly sweep of color. The garden can be seen juxtaposed against the historic Christ Church buildings along the north edge of Christ Church Meadow, from a popular walking path that begins/ends at the gate on St.Aldate's Street. Of interest to gardeners and non-gardeners alike.

These small but very pretty gardens, honoring the dead from WWI, are located near the entrance to Christ Church and Christ Church Meadows

We stopped at Christ Church War Memorial Garden briefly while on the way to Christ Church Meadow. Though not very old by Oxford standards (built 1926), this small, neatly maintained garden honoring the dead from World War I is tranquil and pretty. I wish the weather hadn't been so lousy for photography, and that we could have spent more time there.

The War Memorial Garden pretty much flies under the radar as a tourist attraction. It isn't even shown on the fairly detailed map we used to plan our walking tour.

I did not realize this was a formal spot while we were there. For us it was simply a beautiful spot in the snow on the edge of Christ Church College. It is perfect for pictures, especially a winter day with blue skies and snow.

In February the grounds, although tidy, were not very picturesque. There is a small fountain and it had some pretty Spring primulas flowering just after you walk over the small culvert. It is framed by the fabulous backdrop of the college which definitely lifts its profile. A pleasant area to walk in some green open space away from the crowded streets.

We were enjoying our second visit to Oxford and we remembered how beautiful the War Memorial Garden was.
Consequently, we made it a priority to visit the garden again. When we arrived at the garden, it was quite busy with a number of tourists enjoying the delights of the garden.
It turned out to be just as we remembered it. The garden was meticulously maintained with its beautiful flowers beds and the picture postcard views across the garden beds to Christ Church and its associated buildings.
There were some earthworks being undertaken over on one side of the garden, with new pathways etc. being installed. However, the maintenance work did not prove to be detrimental to our enjoyment of this glorious garden.
A visit to the War Memorial Garden is highly recommended for any tourist visiting Oxford for the first time!
