I decided to stay an extra night in ahead of my friends wedding and happened across Wadham College. It cost £65 and was worth double that amount.
On entering I was greeted by friendly porters who went out of the way to explain where I was staying and the facilities including breakfast, which I was surprised to find was included in the price.
Whilst the room was not ensuite, the bathroom was right next door and had a very good quality shower. (I had a good 20 mins after going for a run around the University Park a short distance away on the river). The room was pleasant with sink, wardrobe, chest of draws, desk and bed, but also came with mini fridge and ample PowerPoints. Soap and shower gel were provided, along with bath and hand towel and a bath mat.
The room was cosy and warm with duvet and a sheet so I started the night with just the sheet and then added the duvet later as I always sleep with the window open.
Breakfast was exceptional with all you would expect to get (served in a ‘help yourself’ buffet style) but also offered cereals, pastries, fresh fruit and yogurt. Tea and coffee were served by the friendly staff and the hall was worth the visit with painting of former College students and staff including Rosamond Pile and Felicity Jones. I will definitely stay here again when visiting Oxford and they’re hospitality was in contrast to another college I was staying in the following day who seemed to think they were doing me a a favour letting me stay there for a significantly higher price and no breakfast! Thank you Wadham College

Stayed here for a few days, couldn't reccomend it more. The location is super central, the college is beautiful, the rooms are nice, breakfast is lovely and staff is super friendly.

And its way way cheaper than staying in a regular hotel or air bnb this close to the city centre.

I stayed here for 2 nights as the college rents out rooms during the holiday periods. It is both an extremely affordable and great way to experience Oxford. The location of the college is very central (more central than any hotel you are likely to find) and I almost felt I had the whole place to myself. All the main sights and shops are within a few minutes walk. There is also a good pub next door. The college setting itself is beautiful.

The room was very comfortable, was cleaned well, had a good bathroom and free wifi. The breakfast in the main hall is excellent and a great experience in a beautiful setting. The service provided by the staff at breakfast surpasses anything I have experienced elsewhere.

As one of the most affordable and authentic ways to spend time in Oxford, I had a great stay here and would happily stay the next time I visit.

There are 38 colleges in Oxford. When you see a few of them you will pretty much know how the rest of them look like.

Decided to stay a couple of nights at a college in Oxford to truly experience the student’s life. The room at the college that I had was on the 3rd floor. No lift so you had to deal with your own luggage. It is an old building over 400 years but my room was clean, bright snd very pleasant. Breakfast at the hall was memorable like in Harry Potters movie. Quiet but charming place. Will come back.

We visited as part of a tour and was impressed by the History, by its openness to Opportunity, by the Architecture, by the serenity.
It would have been so nice to be a student here.

We saw this college as part of a walking tour & were most impressed by its history as it was founded by a female, Dorothy Wadham, in 1610.

Wadham college is at the centre of everything and is in a very close proximity to Trinity College, many cafes, bars, restaurants and just about everything else in Oxford as it is all in walking distance. The exterior is impressive and gives a wonderful insight into the history of Oxford in its architecture! It is also free to enter.

The is our second time at Wadham. We had a double room with ensuite. The room had double aspect windows with one set facing the quod, the other facing the road. The room is basic but comfortable and the shower had plenty of pressure. You have your breakfast in the Great Hall which is all a bit Harry Potter in the table department but good choice for self service.
The buildings and gardens are lovely. My only 'complaint' is that the bath towels are very small! Otherwise all very nice.
