Serviceable, convenient
Sep 2018 • Business
I stayed for two nights and three days during a conference on-site. The dorm rooms are spartan, but do have the necessities: coffee maker/water heater, towels, iron, hair dryer. Very few hangars, but I pack a few foldable plastic ones for situations like this. The towels in my room were new, so no complaints.

The food in the main dining hall was generous in quantity and there were enough pleasant options that everybody could find something they like.

The taxi ride from the central bus station takes about 15 minutes and cost about 6 pounds. Very convenient bus connections from Oxford straight into Heathrow on National Express bus - easier than the train and cheaper.

Some of the lodging entries are several stories high with no lifts. If that's a problem for you (it definitely is for me!), be sure to request one on the ground level and/or a building with a lift.

Very walkable neighborhood with plenty to see.

Worst college accommodation in Oxford?
Jul 2018 • Business
140 pounds for a twin room. During 6 nights the bedsheets and towels were only changed once. The towels were worn out and stained. Soap and shampoo was not replenished. The shower did not have a pressure adjuster. Worst college stay I have ever had in Oxford and I have tried many colleges. Apart from this, the webpage has only photos of rooms in a new building while the majority of the rooms are nothing like the ones pictured. This is misleading to say the least.

Let's just say, it'll do......the venue was warm enough, food edible, but I think so much more could be done to make people feel welcome.

Easy stay
Mar 2018 • Business
I stayed here for a weeklong workshop and found the accommodations newer, clean, simple and affordable. Breakfast is in the dining hall (cafeteria style), with surprising vegan and vegetarian options within their typical British fare. This is not the type of place I would normally stay but would consider it for future trips. NOTE: these are dorm rooms so while they had added a hot pot, hair dryer and iron, it’s also a twin bed.

'Purposefully and boldly' is a translation of the Latin motto for St. Anne's College, Oxford whose alumni include Sir Simon Rattle, Ruth Death, Helen Fielding and Martha Kearney. To what extent any of them have in their lives fulfilled that motto I leave as an open question. St. Anne's was founded in 1879 as the Society of Oxford Home Students it achieved collegiate status in 1952 and has been co-educational since 1979. It is one of the largest colleges with 450 undergraduates and 150 graduates. It initially expanded by acquiring more Victorian houses between the Woodstock and Banbury Roads. The Ruth Deech building opened in 2005 and houses the Tsuzuki Lecture Theatre. The 1959 dining hall is one of Oxford's largest. A new library has just opened.

Very pleasant modern college
Apr 2017 • Family
Visited the college of St Anne today as part of a free walking tour. It was fascinating observing students of this particular college in their natural habitat. The main quadrangle was very pretty in pleasant weather (excellent for matriculation photos). Pity we did not reach the rooftop.

Modern college with typical student accomodation
Sep 2016 • Business
This is one of the modern colleges 15 minutes walk north from the city centre along the Woodstock road. They have a good lecture theatre and conference participants can stay in the college. The rooms are adequate but are small and in great need of refurbishment and modernisation. Staying in the college whilst at the conference worked well.
The staff at the Porter's Lodge were not really that helpful and I felt treated customers like they would treat students who have no choice once they are accepted by the college.
