30 min guided tour taken by one of the students. Entry was just £2 for an adult which covered inside the chapel, dining room and other areas of the college. Well worth a visit.

Nice building. It´s interesting to imagine the life of the students in these places which, by the way, are open and working.

We wanted to have a look around this college because we are at Cambridge and University College is our sister college. Unless you were looking for it, you would probably miss the entrance as it is very unassuming, with no sign advertising that visitors are welcome. However, the door was open and we went in and asked the on-duty porter... More

I live in Canada but like to take my Canadian grandchildren to see where I was born and grew up, and of course the sights of Oxford. There's a multi story parking lot south west of Carfax,(the main crossroads in the centre of town) where I think you pay afterwards, but I got by misfortune into some underground parking north... Lovely, supposedly the oldest college although there are lots of claims to that! Big famous monument to Percy Shelley off one of the quads.

Founded in 1249 by William of Durham, University College (or Collegium Magnae Aulae Universitatis, as its Latin name states) is one of the oldest colleges in the University of Oxford. Next to the marvellous sandstone quadrangles, beautifully maintained and always adorned by splendid floral arrangements, Univ (as it is known amongst Oxonians) features a marble memorial to the poet Percy... My friends tell me stories about who and what are associated with this college. Set on the High, it's one of the colleges that add up to a beautiful street scene.

This college is located on the High Street opposite the Queens College. There is no admission charge but ask the porters to see if it is possible for you to take a look at the white marble Shelley memorial. Also ask if you can see the Wisteria in the Radcliffe Quad.
