This is a first-class introduction to all-grain brewing at home. It provided me with exactly what I was after. Good value for money too, and lunch provided!

The perfect way to start your home brewing hobby !

Myself and a friend attended this day long brewing course at the Kelham Island Museum on March 2Oth. The course was hosted by Paul Carruthers who supplied us with a comprehensive, start to finish learning experience of a 23 litre full mash IPA brew. Every aspect was covered with plenty of hands on learning and Paul was always happy to discuss and explain any queries we had. There was an excellent hand out provided of the procedures of the brew which should see me through my first attempt , hopefully without too many issues. We were given taster samples during the day and also two bottles each to bring home. I cannot finish without mentioning the quality fayre provide for our buffet lunch. this consisted of a selection of cold meats, cheeses, pickles and pork pie plus a variety of other bits. All i can say is that if you are truely interested in starting home brewing then this day is highly recommended and worth every penny of the £90.00. Thanks Paul for a great day.

Great Introduction to All Grain Brewing
Jan 2016 • Solo
I was on the Jan 24 2016 course at the Abbey Pumping Station in Leicester. I am not an absolute beginner as I've been brewing for a couple of years and thought that this was a good opportunity to check my method out. The day was not a disappointment, I was part of a small group that ran through a complete Brewday. Paul is very knowledgeable and explains everything clearly and will go into greater detail when asked questions.

The course is great value for money and includes a Lunch with a Beer Tasting and a couple of Bottles to take away at the end.

Absolutely brilliant.

I have tried a few kits and after being given some "ingredients" as a birthday present thought I had better learn how to use them properly. The internet has lots of information but seem to always assume a level of knowledge that they couldn't explain. Paul from Big Brewday explained it all the best way by taking us through everything from scratch and actually making the beer. The solid, but understandable background information, combined with actually seeing what happens at each stage made it less daunting. Watching the protein chains forming and learning that this is supposed to happen was really helpful as it looks really weird and I would have probably assumed something was wrong and ditched the lot if I hadn't seen the next bit in "real life". Paul also gave lots of additional information even discussing what hops to grow for those interested in doing so. No question I asked was too trivial and the answers were easy to understand.

Introduction to All Grain Brewing Course
Nov 2015 • Solo
After being given a flyer advertising this event, I had no hesitation to book a place. On arrival I was welcomed and made to feel at ease. A great day. Learnt so much and can't wait to brew my own craft beers using the information given during the day. I had a rough idea what to do but all of my questions were answered in an way that was easy to understand.
I feel that I could confidently brew my own beer after this brilliant day.
Something I have always wanted to do and really appreciate the help I was given I would recommend the day to anyone with an interest in beer and a brilliant idea for a Birthday or Christmas present.

All the knowledge you need to get you brewing at home
Oct 2015 • Solo
I've been wanting to get into homebrew for years. It's been a slow process, picking up books, Googling how-tos, watching Americans brew with fancy gear I could never hope to own.

I've done a few kits, but what was missing was always, "right, so what do I actually do on brewday?"

This course answered that for me. Paul takes you through all the steps in a straightforward manner. You actually go through a whole brew day and along the way, learn pretty much everything you need to know to get you going in your own kitchen, garage or shed.

My favourite bits were actually getting hands on with the malt and hops and all the smells created during the boiling. Plus, finding out about what gear I needed to have to get me started.

We saw a very modest, "two vessel" set up, which really appealed to me. I wish I'd done this course ages ago because I would have probably been more certain about which bits of kit were really essential and what it would be worth investing in early on.

Anyway, I came away full of information, really inspired and confident I could start brewing really soon. I also got to meet some people who had the same interest and were all at different stages of learning and had different bits of kit. It's always good to see what other people are doing.

Get yourself booked on to this course or ask Santa. You won't regret it.

An enjoyable and informative day.

If like me you have been thinking about trying All Grain Brewing at home then this is for you. I attended this course in Nottingham last week and I thoroughly enjoyed the day as well as learning a lot about brewing beer. I had already read quite a lot about brewing beer beforehand but seeing the brewing process first hand made everything much clearer. Paul explained everything very well and had answers to all my questions. After deliberating for a number of years now, I am now going to go ahead and start All Grain Brewing.

Excellent homebrew course
Oct 2015 • Solo
I went on this course in Leicester, I'd been thinking of home brewing for some time and had read about it but wanted to do a course on it but they are few and far between, so glad I found this course as it gave me a great insight and first hand experience of the brewing process under the guidance of an expert. Paul the tutor is very knowledgeable and and answered pretty much all of the questions that my reading just didn't answer, and I was able to see what sort of kit I needed and how to put it together and of course the brewing process itself, along with the parts of the process that are critical such as temperature and timings and things that could go wrong. I'm now bit by bit building up my own brew kit to start brewimg at home. Would recommend this to anyone interested in home brewing.

Big Brewday brewing course
Oct 2015 • Solo
Home brewing has become an extremely popular hobby of late. I attended this course in early October. We started out in the class with a recipe sheet and Paul took us through an entire brewday from weighing out the grain to bottling. This is a practical hands on day. If you love beer, you will love brewing it. The aromas of the malt being mashed and the hops hitting the boil are amazing and you will be heading home wondering why you haven't always been making your own beer.
