Lovely varied walk, lots to see in nature with a variety of walks. Coffee at the end!

Spur of the minute visit but so glad we went. The Winding House was closed due to Covid but that didn’t bother us. We can visit again. The walks were lovely, varied and great views. The nature side meant I kept stopping to take photos! Then the buildings and history of the area was fascinating. Finished with coffee on the terrace. Afternoon tea would have been lovely but we had had a good lunch!
Definitely go back when I visit friends again

Many a lovely walk.

Have walked my dog here and I love the way it changes through the year. Would throughly recommend for an hour or so if your time. And a great place to walk dogs come rain or shine.

Family walk

This is a lovely place for a family walk if you have extra time to get lost haha.
Beautiful scenery, park for children and a nice area to picnic.
I'd object to taking pushchairs as the path is uncertain and can cause wheel damage.....
Overall a lovely day out

Lovely well maintained tidy park, lovely to have a wonder and watch the world go by. Great for a bike ride, we walked round with the dogs. Lots of space goes on for miles.

Ex-tip, well maintained park
Jan 2019 • Couples
My dog and I walk there regularly and it is a wonderfully maintained park. We sometimes park at the Bestwood LOdge Hotel, sometimes in Bestwood Village. Either way the walks through the woods and around the lake are lovely. We have also met some nice people and dogs.

A winter walk
Jan 2019 • Couples
Wrapping up and walking out is a hobby of ours. We tried Bestwood country park and was not disappointed. It stretches for miles, and has a touch of mining history too. The car park is free which is a bonus and there is plenty of space for long walks on the gravelled paths or picnics on the wide plentiful grassy patches. We also walked about the Mill Lakes which is attached to the country park via a bridge over the main road. The lake is peaceful and relaxing. It is large and mostly level to walk around.
