Excellent Location
Sep 2021
A lovely hotel well located for both the commuter and those wanting access to Nottingham City Centre. Excellent rooms, clean and large. Reception friendly, breakfast very good and public rooms superb. So glad we booked and would highly recomend.

Good air conditioning
Jul 2021 • Family
Best thing about it was self units air conditioning and really needed during the summer with so few hotels having air conditioning. The spa and pool was okay but overcrowded with non hotel guests and kids .
Food was okay but service at the bar was so slow . Rooms were okay but not that thoroughly cleaned.

Fantastic! 100% Recommend!
Jun 2021 • Friends
We chose this hotel as it was one of the most reasonable priced hotels for the area, with spa included. Myself and my partner were both amazed by how beautiful the hotel is, inside and out. It is in a very private area, with beautiful gardens and the restaurants serve delicious food. We stayed for 2 nights, and wish we stayed longer, as our experience here was great! Check in was quick and easy, we had a few questions and all were answered with great information and detail. We arrived at our room and discovered we had a balcony too… which was a huge positive for us, we loved it as it was very private views. We had a fridge in the room, and I’ve never visited a hotel where there is a bath AND separate shower so this was a huge bonus for us. We booked the gym and spa for our afternoon, and again was very impressed. The spa facilities were great! And the gym was well equipped. We visited the restaurant for an evening meal, and it was delicious. I had a pumpkin pasta dish, and that was beautiful. It was busy, but we were served and catered for very quickly. Thank you for a fantastic stay, and we will 100% be back again.

Ordinary hotel stay
May 2021
Stayed here two nights as a quick break away, the staff were lovely, the room was fine, restaurant ok, slept really well, found the Greenall King pub within walking distance. Only downsides, spa not open, which is expected, too much hassle to use swimming pool, & small bath towels! Come on Marriott hotels, no-one needs half a towel these days! But in these times of "restrictions" enjoyed our stay, & again, compliments to all the staff.

Great Stay
Oct 2020 • Family
Visited as a one nighter as we are off to Center Parcs today, felt very safe here, lots of precautions and the staff were lovely. Spa was great as we had the place to ourselves. I’d agree with a previous guest maintenance seems to be slightly lacking but hardly surprising just now

Spa day
Mar 2020 • Friends
Really enjoyed our spa day. Had a leisurely swim, steam room and jacuzzi. But we didn't try the sauna room but I'm sure it's nice. Nice relaxing atmosphere and enjoyed chatting to other people too. Also enjoyed our complimentary refreshments. We both enjoyed it very much.

Poor for the price, other guests smoking drugs in their rooms, room maintenance not being done.
Feb 2020
Stayed here in November 2019 and enjoyed it but this was the opposite experience.

Checked in very late Saturday night after working all day. These were the issues.

The bathroom fan was loud and took forever to stop so I had to turn off the socket that controlled it to get to sleep. Guests in a room nearby were smoking marijuana and I could smell it in my room (this was the Sunday morning at 10am!). The toilet seat wouldn’t stay up and was missing parts, and the window didn’t close properly so let in cold air and the sound of the nearby road.

Check out didn’t even bother to ask how stay was and so didn't pick up these issues.

Overall a poor experience for the price. Won’t stay here again.

Belfry Nottingham hotel spa
Feb 2020 • Solo
I was looking for a place for my business to send our staff on a monthly basis but I myself am not one for spa’s, so I sent my wife to go to a few spa’s that are around the area to let me know her opinion. Belfry Nottingham was the one I thought would of been perfect with the location, It was a spa package that was paid for upon arrival, my wife arrived at 11am and the treatment wasn’t till 4pm which lasted till 6pm, the package included a glass of champagne with a light lunch. My wife received Non of this but she really enjoyed the treatment which actual saved this whole day for being completely pointless. as she asked for the receipt she was told she wasn’t aloud it but was aloud to take a photo but the receptionist kept her thumb over the top of it for reasons unknown. But the fact you charged for champagne & food when she did not receive it is completely unbelievable. She was then asked by one of your masseuses if she’d had anything to eat n offered to get her something after, which was at least something but that meant she would finish her treatment and after being there since 11am get food at 6pm, I phoned to ask about the receipt & the food/drink but got no where so not only have you lost my business but the business of the 500 members of staff that would of been coming to you for treatments through company benefits. Very very disappointed! I will be taking this further as it’s taking my money for something I didn’t receive.

Spa Day
Jan 2020 • Friends
We got a last minute Groupon deal that cost £99 for a spa day for 2 including a 1hour treatment each and a light lunch.

On arrival we were met by two friendly girls who explained the day to us and checked we were ok. There was a small issue when we couldn’t find proof lunch was included and they thought it might not be because of the price we had paid. However, once I found the confirmation email they accepted it with my fuss.

The pool area and jacuzzi was clean but we hadn’t realised that there would be children in there - we’re not against children but it wasn’t particularly conducive to trying to relax. The biggest issue for us was the lack of loungers next to the pool - 4 in total. 2 were already taken and a young girl was lying on one playing on her phone - clearly she wasn’t using the pool as she was fully dressed but she took up a bed we could have used. It wasn’t a great first impression and they definitely need extra loungers - there is room for them.

The spa treatments were incredible! We both had back massages and another treatment and the girls that did these were brilliant. They spent a lot of time checking our expectations before they started and we liked the fact we were both in the same room to have this done. We both agree these are the best massages we have EVER had and we are regular spa goers so have a lot to compare it to.

Lunch was ok but the options were limited: a choice of 4 sandwiches or salads. We both had a chicken and bacon Caesar salad but asked for a portion of chips as it wasn’t that substantial- however the dessert platter that was included cheered us up! We had to ask them to turn the air con off in the restaurant- we were sitting in wet swimming costumes/ robes so were freezing. There was a wedding fayre in in the hotel so the staff were running round but we had no complaints about their attentiveness.

After lunch we went back to the pool area and had the place to ourselves. The Eucalyptus steam room was lovely and then we chilled again until around 3pm - there wasn’t anything else left to do so we headed home.

We wouldn’t really call it a ‘spa day’. Agreed, there are spa facilities and we went for the day but it’s not comparable to the experience you get at say Eden Hall or Thoresby Hall, etc. If you’re after a full on spa experience then this isn’t it.

Some of the others there on the same day were not happy with the experience - I think if we’d have paid the full price and hadn’t had everything included then it might have been an issue. However, we didn’t so it wasn’t.

Would we come again? Maybe. But considering for an extra £29 we could get the whole thing elsewhere, that would be a big factor.
