About
Although built in the 1950s, the Newshouse occupies a site which was first licensed a century earlier. It was operated latterly by Home Ales and then Mansfield Brewery before being acquired by Castle Rock in 2002. The Newshouse is now the Totally Brewed brewery tap and once again we are proud to be featured in the Good Beer Guide 2017. Within walking distance of both football grounds, Nottingham train station and the Capital FM Arena, the pub is ideally located for sporting events and concerts. The Newhouse has a traditional set up of two rooms with a central bar. Sports are shown on the big screen and bar games including darts and bar billiards are popular.

After meeting up with friends in town heading to the game, we stopped here for a quick pint, its located on a busy road and has a great blue tiled covered front and a charming atmosphere inside, plenty of choices for drink and well worth a pint or two.

First time visit to News House pub very friendly & helpful staff with great draft beers on tap... Nice collection of old beer bottle to be seen around place...
What was a first for me was bar billiards really enjoy playing that much when back after footy for more billiards
They also offer great pie & peas
Great service well done

Tucked not far behind the main train station in canal road, I was glad to find this friendly pub. A public and saloon pub serving a fantastic range of ales and of an evening a range of snacks like pies and cobs plus usual crops etc.
Spotlessly clean, historical pub dating back to 1850's? And lots of historical memoribillia on the walls.
Background music rather than blaring. Spacious not pokey, and ideally located for the city centre.
The ales were great but even better the landlord was epitome of friendly and polite service. I'll be back next time I'm this way.

Lovely little pub on the outset, lovely and very helpful staff, my phone had died on the way into Nottingham and I was nipping in for a few and the lady behind the bar offered a charger for me, there’s nothing I can fault about this lovely pub will definitely be returning

Solid little alehouse, hidden from the spotlights in Nottingham [You'll notice it when you're walking between the Motorpoint Arena and the train station]. Six real ales on tap when I was visiting; I tried the "Mosaic Pale", which was decent and fresh. No-nonsense décor, friendly, community boozer atmosphere. Nice place for a quick refill.

Located not to far from Nottingham Train Station and on a very busy road sits The Newshouse Pub which was one of the best real ale pubs we visited on our resent six day trip to Nottingham.
A beautiful blue tiled exterior, the interior of this two roomed pub is cool, lots of beer posters, enamels and mirror features adorn both rooms with some interesting beer enamels relating to beers from the Czech republic, there's also ice hockey decorative items adorning the walls and plenty of seating options spread throughout this pub, it's just one really good pub.
We were here on a Friday afternoon, pub was just starting to get busy with a great atmosphere, after a quick study of the real ales on offer I opted to have Totally Brewed Brewery " slap in the face " 4.0% while my brother went for Layton Lane Brewery " citrasm&sh " 5.0% both these real ales were served in excellent condition, we got a table in the back room were we just chilled out and took in the great pub we were in.
My real ale was outstandingly tasty, a classic pale ale ,hoppy but not overhopped and bursting with taste ,a real ale style I am particularly fond of, my twin brother Stephen also gave the thumbs up to his real ale, these are the type of pubs I love, proper local pubs serving great real ales by staff who are genuinely pleased to see you in their pub.
We really enjoyed our real ales in here and although we only stayed for the one each before we moved on for a first time visiting the wonderful pub we were very impressed.
The Newshouse Pub is easy to locate on Canal Street.
Opening hours are;
Monday to Thursday, Midday till 11pm.
Friday & Saturday, Midday till Midnight.
Sunday, Midday till 11pm.
A great pub,one I highly recommend you visit if your in the area.

It is not too far from the station and an easy walk down to the sports grounds. There was a great selection of beer and my Burton Bridge was wonderful. The food is simple, with pies and baguettes being the main choices. It is great value, especially with the CAMRA discount and the landlord was very pleasant, entertaining us with the story of the playing cards stuck to the roof.

Always a friendly welcome. Good range of beers. A traditional public house. Good prices for a pub in city.
