Hidden gem
Feb 2020 • Friends
Came with a friend on a Sunday for the roast and ordered beef but got pork which I didn’t mind ad it was lovely and I will be returning, the pub also serve a nut roast and a wide selection of craft beers although on occasion I had a Dandelion and Burdock. I look forward to trying The beef and also I’m gonna ask for extra Yorkshire puddings as they were so nice! Big and fluffy and homemade :)

Really Nice Lunch
Jul 2019 • Couples
We went for lunch here on Friday just gone. It's really nice inside since it re-opened and they have a fabulous outside seating area and it was lovely weather on Friday. The choice of beer was good (they do Beavertown and Camden Ale) so is worth the visit for these alone. We had lunch, there was a pizza deal so it was extremely reasonably priced. We went for the halloumi and wild mushroom pizza- I love halloumi and wild mushrooms, on a pizza though? I needn't have worried though, it definitely works. And a build your own pizza with artichokes, olives and mushrooms. Both pizzas were delicious, proper Italian style thin crispy bases with plenty of toppings. The service was good and the staff were super friendly. We will definitely be going back here for lunch again- I'll be having the veggie lasagna.

Awful beer, awful service, short measures
May 2019 • Business
Miserable staff, serving short measures of terrible beer. Our group tried a number of beers and they were all in a very dubious condition. Probably the worst pub I’ve ever been in. Staff clearly have no idea of customer service.

Great pub .
Mar 2019 • Friends
Pub hopping along Mansfield Road we chanced upon The Golden Fleece Pub and what A Great find.
The pub interior is awesome with a superb interior ,a light and airy interior with superb decor and furnishings including a cool looking serving bar and plenty of seating, lovely decorative features abound throughout this pub such as the beautiful real fire place ,there's also plenty of seating options spread throughout this pub, it's just a cool place.
We were here on a Saturday afternoon, walking in and I knew I would enjoy my visit here, looking at the serving bar with its rows of beer taps was cool, after a quick study of the real ales and beers on offer my brother opted to have Angel Microbrewery " yippee aye ay IPA " 5.4% while I went for Aktienbrauerei " kaufbeuren ABK " pils style beer ,these real ales and beers were served in excellent condition, we got a nice table by the fireplace were we just chilled out and took in the great pub we were in.
My German pils was outstandingly tasty, a light, hoppy beer served iced cold and sparkling, very easy to drink,a beer style I am particularly fond of, my brother also gave the thumbs up to his real ale.
We really enjoyed our real ale and beer in here before we moved on and for a first time visit to The Golden Fleece Pub we were very impressed .
The Golden Fleece Pub is easy to locate on Mansfield Road.
Opening hours are;
Monday to Sunday, Midday till Midnight.
A great pub, well worth checking out if your in the area.

Rather excellent
Dec 2018 • Couples
This place has had a revamp thanks to being taken over by the Angel. Nicely decorated now with fantastic staff and a good selection of beers on the pumps
We had a meal there and it was excellent. Nice menu to satisfy meat eaters, vegetarians and vegans. The food was tasty and freshly cooked and really rather delicious. Good prices too. Will return

Bloody marvelous place

Great tunes (nicely eclectic). Beer well kept but the choice is limited. A pub with a mixed clientele` and some of the nicest bar staff you could ever hope to meet.

I swung by here on a bitterly cold March Saturday afternoon. It's obviously a music place most of the time. There was decent music playing & a TV was showing the Irish duffing up the English in the Six Nations.

There were several beer pumps, but only Ghost Ship was working...but it was fine. The pub is a lot bigger inside than it looks from the outside. It's got a raised level at the back, and several nooks & crannies.

I liked the local photos on the wall, and some were quite unusual. On a practical note the fire exit at the back was chained shut. This actually could be quite serious.

There's no pool table any more, but relax..table football is available!

So, I quite liked it. But....it's seen better days
