We thought we had found a little gem as it’s in a hidden spot in Lowdham and he had previously visited the beer garden with our toddler.
We booked a table for 5pm on Saturday as my other half had read some good reviews but I didn’t really check the menu before the reservation. We got there at 4:30 pm so we had a drink outside and let our toddler run around which it was lovely.
However when we sat down and I read the menu I wasn’t wowed by anything. My other half ordered beer battered onion rings and the kebab burger, I ordered the sizzling prawns with crackers and rice. Well, I only got like 5 or six small prawns and some microwave white rice! I can’t believe that this is actually £15!! I wasn’t impressed at all, very disappointing 😔 My other half wasn’t impressed either with his choice, we both agreed that it was overpriced and really average. It is a real shame because it has a great potential, the place is really nice decorated, the plates are beautiful and they have really thought about some great details but the food needs to improve, the menu itself needs to improve and maybe have two waiters serving food instead of just one as we had to wait ages to get the bill and our table didn’t even get cleared after we had finished with our main course.
Unfortunately we won’t be returning to have a meal here 😔

Several visits to the premises of late having a Sunday lunch after our paddle boarding trips nearby. Meals are always pretty decent but the service today from our Waitress Lillyeth was exceptional. Well done.

How time has changed this pub. High prices for a pub lunch with less food on the plate. The place used to be packed but you could have got a seat anywhere and on a weekend.
Not sure if they were short of staff but we waited ages for our mains and when they arrived the food was neither hot or tasty, it was very run of the mill for a very high price. The place needs a spruce up and carpet needs replacing.
Personally I think they need to re think what they want to be, their prices are high end but the food is lacking flavour or imagination. Lets bring the good old British pub food back, done well and tasty.
Their website does not reflect the same menu as given and gives a different portrayal with white linen table clothes when in fact it is the usual wooden tables. Website and the actual business does not reflect the same.
Staff on duty were very nice and welcoming.

Had a great lunch out with friends. HUGH ploughmans lunch. Yum. Big portions and lovely beer garden. Some good non alcoholic drink choices as well as cask ales too. Super friendly staff. We will be back.

Fabulous food and great service. I ordered the Belly Pork and my husband ordered the steak pie. Both were absolutely delicious and will 100% be returning. The staff were very pleasant and welcoming which made our visit even better. Thankyou!

Visited with a friend for Sunday lunch a few weeks ago. The staff were extremely friendly and gave good service with a smile. The starter was good, as was dessert, but the roast lunch was pretty average. Very little choice. Beef or pork, or both, with trimmings. Vegetables were cooked nicely but roast potatoes were inedible and appeared to have been kept warm for far to long.
The biggest disappointment was the place itself! Very dowdy and looked like it hadn’t seen a lick of paint in years and it just seemed dingy! In great need of refurbishment. Having said all this, they were busy and seemed to be doing good business.

Since we last came here the prices have gone up. £11 for a slice of pie with chips is too much. Would be better if the chips were at least homemade. Mussels ok. Friendly place though just needs a food upgrade or lower prices to reflect the product.
