Called in Saturday lunchtime. Ordered 3 drinks and 3 sandwiches.
The service was friendly and efficient, the ambiance just right and the sandwiches were some of the best we've had. Delicious roast beef that melted in the mouth and tasty ham. Served with garnish. We ordered chips which again were very lovely, hot and fresh. Great sized portions too. We'll definitely be back!

Another visit. The Earl of Chesterfield is always on the go to list when I visit my parents. This time we had four different starters and four different lunches and all pleased us a lot. The roasts were delicious, quality ingredients, well prepared. The Yorkshires were fabulous and the vegetables well cooked. Sister had the sea bass and loved the taste. The staff may be young but are very professional and look after you so well. Highly recommended.

Many thanks to Lisa, Chloe, the chef and all the team for a fantastic birthday meal in the Chapel restaurant. The food, organisation and service was great and everyone enjoyed themselves. We were a large party of 25 and they provided a special menu suited to our needs and nothing was too much trouble. I would definitely recommend you give it a try.

Beautiful home cooked Sunday lunch. Great service and beer garden and bouncy castle are a great asset on sunny days.

After a walk with family along the Trent we opted for a Sunday lunch. I'd not been to the Earl of Chesterfield since I was at school in 1985 so it was good to be back. We had a warm welcome from young and friendly staff.

The order was promptly taken and was good quality. My only gripe was that the starter was served on slates not plates which seemed to be a bit odd, even the waitress seemed a bit apologetic about this. I had to shovel my crayfish back onto my slate several times. I started to worry that the roast would also come on a slate and I'd have gravy dripping off the table onto my lap.

I was pleased to see plates make a return for the main course which was delicious with the veg cooked perfectly and the beef soft and pink just as I'd asked for.

We will I'm sure be back.

We visited here with friends and our 4month old baby, I booked the table through their Facebook page and spoke to a lovely lady called Lisa she was very accommodating to our needs and booked us a table with enough space so we could have our son in his pushchair or car seat asleep while we ate.
The food was brilliant, we always eat out on Christmas eve and the food can sometimes be a little hit and miss but not here, we were still able to pick food from the usual menu and weren't restricted to a festive set menu which was brilliant for our needs.
The staff were very friendly and the food very reasonable priced, would highly recommend a visit.

Called in tonight without a reservation - friendly welcome, efficient polite service! We shared a starter of pulled pork scotch egg - very tasty! Main courses of pie, mash, veg and gravy. My dining partner had turkey and mushroom pie and I had beef in ale with melted stilton on top. Really yummy comfort food! All excellent! Shared a pudding of churros and hot chocolate sauce! Coffee, wine and soft drink - bill came to a reasonable £44.

Called in here on the off chance at lunch time and found a pub completely transformed from its previous incarnation; a very good selection of beer and the food still of a high standard. I had the ploughman's which was one of the best I have ever had and my partner had Fish and Chips, the service was quick which is a help at lunch where time is limited.

8.45 Friday evening a deserted lounge and restaurant and there are only 4 of us in the bar. The staff are dismissive and tell us they are shutting the bar. This used to be a popular bar and pub but staff indifference have steadily driven the customers away. It's time for a change.
