visited here 4 of us over the weekend ,Was dreading it to be honest after reading some of the reviews but upon arrival 1st impressions where good the place looked clean , toilets where clean but the place was a lot smaller than i imagined. We ordered a pitcher of lager ( Budweiser or stella 4% as the becks vier was off ) £17.00 which holds 4 pints ( apparently ) ...we where given scratched and dirty plastic cups ..The Budweiser was bloody awful flat as a nail no life in it at all after pushing myself to drink a pint of it while the 1st acts where on i couldn't drink anymore , i complained to the bar staff whom had to consult the manager and all i got was well you've drank half i give you a pint of something else GGGGRRRR..After telling her id NOT drank half just a pint she was having none of it ...so a pint of stella 4 was my replacemnet which cost me £17 ..disgusting , bottle of wine £12 a bottle avoid tasted like dish washer ..bloody awful. 3 acts where on 1st & 3rd where good and funny 2nd was shocking dont think i heard anybody in the audience laugh
overall ok entertainment , drinks AVOID, staff useless
WONT be going back

I would love to say all of the previous reviews are dramatic and not accurate. However, I can only agree and maybe even suggest it’s even worse than what everyone else has said.
First of all, we didn’t realize it’s in a nightclub!! So you turn up and you’re checked in and then someone shows you to your seat, excellent - I thought this is brilliant very good service. That’s the end of the good feedback though. We were shown to our ‘seats’ which I can only describe as being something from a run down holiday camp. It was battered, filthy and being stabilized by a wet paper towel.
Once we’d adjusted to our surroundings, we watched as everyone else came in and realised very quickly that a lot of people had similar reactions to us. Not good.
We waited for the acts to start. No one had food so can’t comment on that - in hindsight I’m so pleased because being a nightclub I dread to think what atrocities we’d have been served.
The DJ then deafens is by telling us the acts are about to start. He had his mic and the music so loud it actually hurt. I’ve also read this in previous reviews so why management hasn’t passed this on tells me they don’t even read the reviews. So just be prepared. Playing massive club tunes to a crowd of people waiting for a comedy show... time and a place in my opinion.
The comedy acts were really good i thought. Pleasantly surprised that there were more than 2 acts which the website did not correspond.
As soon as all of the acts were done we were told by the ridiculously loud DJ we were welcome to stay in the club... we were gone before he even finished his sentence, as we walked back towards the entrance we found ourselves amongst a group of 18year olds absolutely paralytic, which was just the cherry on top.
Definitely won’t be recommending and most certainly won’t be returning!

Our daughter bought us the tickets for Christmas so we booked to go 2.9.17.
After reading the reviews we nearly didn't go but we did and were pleasantly surprised.
We were first in, showed to our table and they explained where everything was. The staff were all very nice however our first impression wasn't great as all the tables were dirty, you could see/feel they were sticky from spilt drinks.
I went to the toilet and was pleased how clean they were after reading previous reviews. There was one without a loo seat which should have been sorted but the others seemed fine.
The drinks could do with being colder and some of the glasses could do with a better clean, my husband had to ask for another as his had lipstick marks on.
The comedy acts were good especially Ben Briggs, we would definitely see him again. We were impressed at how he handled the annoying hecklers.
We would go again.

Fantastic comedy night, not so good compère. Let down by the drinks which seemed to be watered down.

Were bought this as a gift. Having been there a couple of years ago were really looking forward to it. The reception staff and the bar staff were all very polite, friendly and professional, unfortunately, that's were the praise ends. Very disappointing night, would rather have saved a heap of money and stayed at home. The sound system appalling, The DJ and Compare thought that high volume was the answer, it is not! I am a Manager in a licenced venue that has live entertainment several times a week, so know how this works. I'm sure that the comedians were all very good, however, the volume was set so high that it distorted most of what was said, until the Compare, halfway through his second set decided that it was too loud and had it turned down. From that point on we could hear the rest of his set and all of the set of the third and final comedian.
We did not eat there, having looked at the prices on line beforehand - not value for money. The drinks are also overpriced - a pint of larger shandy and a gin and tonic, £10.50! No fruit at the bar on the upper balcony (lime/lemon is a basic requirement for G&T), so had to go to the ground floor bar myself to fetch some. Whilst there has been some new, replacement seating on the ground floor area, the rest of the venue is very tired and in need of refurbishment (70's style carpeting in some areas). The tiredness could be overlooked, to some degree, if prices weren't so high and the place had been clean. Carpets looked as though they hadn't been vacuumed for a very long time, walls filthy and the prism hanging from the ceiling was in a disgusting state, covered in liquid stains and large pieces of glitter (I wouldn't be surprised if it was the remnants of New Years Eve celebrations). Last time we were there, after the show we went into the club area and danced until 2am. This time, we had absolutely no enthusiasm and left. We bought 2 huge portions of cod and chips from across the road for £12 and went back to our hotel, which we had booked on the premise that we would be able to have a few drinks (ha,ha - at that price, not on your nelly!!!), and it would be a late night, So, all in all a very poor and expensive experience for us. I don't think that we will be visiting again.

dreadful

We are regular supporters of live comedy, and of all the comedy clubs we have ever visited this was the worst by some margin.
No atmosphere at all. After the comedy it reverted to popular nightclub, the first room of high volume music started 15 minutes before the last comedy act and drowned him out. It was clear most of the audience were there only to fill time until the night club started.;the table next to us ruined most of the show by talking louder than the act and taking numerous 'seflies' and as soon as the music started up they, and many other tables, all got up and left the room - noisily.
Between each act the music went straight to club music at extreme club music volumes and the tables are set up on the dance floor - so forget trying to talk to your friends. No food unless you order, on-line only- three days prior.
We'll never go again.
Stick to Glee.

Without a guy dressed as Superman, a hen doo and a birthday gathering these comics would struggle for material. Venue....poor sound quality and cold. Come on....you must do better!!!!

Not what I expected!

At first the interior and security made me feel excited for the nights show but after ordering flat and expensive drinks £25 for a 4 pint pitcher! In dirty plastic glasses I was so disappointed then the acts came on the mc was good but sometimes a bit too crude then the first act was ruined by a table talking so the poor comedian forgot his lines! The other two comedians were ok too. In the ladies toilets both of the hand-dryers didn't work and when seated in the balcony you can clearly see champagne stains on the ceiling and dirty mirrors I know it's a night club but cleaners would/may have been there before the show starts. Good idea but not executed well a re-think of the recruitment process for cleaners and actually supply beer and pop that is actually carbonated. We didn't order food as the selection was very limited! I really would not go here again. What a shame such a good business venture but poorly managed. It's all in the details guys.....

Great club awful food!
Jun 2017 • Friends
Went here for a party with a group of 16 so watched the comedy and then stayed for the club.

Comedy was average, 2/3 comedians funny, one a bit naff.

Food was awful cheap nastiness where they mixed up dishes I.e.e chilli and cous cous, lamp ravine with rice.

Cocktail menu had incorrect pricing which caused problems at the bar.

Club afterwards was awesome. Will return fir the club but never again for the food, have a pot noodle before hand, would be 1000% more tasty!
