Nice carriage driving experience
Jun 2021 • Couples
Enjoyable carriage experience. Nice to learn about the different harnesses and carriages etc. Knowledgeable and patient staff. Lovely out in the Cregs on a sunny day. We were given alot of help on where to stay and eat near by which was also very useful as we were not from the area. My partner did a lesson and hack whilst I did the carriage experience which he enjoyed as only a beginner. The young girl that took him out for the hack was a lovely chatty girl which made it more comfortable for him. Rather than sitting in silence.
My only slight criticism would be that as its a very busy riding centre, the lady who was giving me the experience was in demand all the time and we were interrupted on numerous occasions even when we were in the middle of talking. I appreciate it's busy centre with alot of young girls needing help but after the first couple of times it came across as rude. Also we paid extra for prosecco on the ride which we never received/ did together. We did get an apology and told we would get the prosecco free next time (even though we paid for it?) so would have been nice to have been offered a refund on the bubbles.

Awful
Jun 2021
Having been here 5 years ago my friend and I were looking forward to a nice hack in lovely surroundings. Unfortunately our previous experience was not met and fell a very long way short. Our 3 hour hack was quite frankly the worst riding experience I have ever paid for. I have ridden and owned my own horses for over 50 years so although I don’t consider myself the best or the bravest I am more than competent. We spent an hour riding out on tracks and roads, an hour walking around a “park” and an hour back the same way. We had no canters and just a handful of short canters. The mare I was riding decided she was wanting to go a bit quicker and “bolted” when I wasn’t expecting it; although alarmed, I wasn’t unseated and regained control but I did exclaim my surprise to which I was shouted at by our guide with “ I told you to stay behind” . My friend who is also very experienced and her mare really wasn’t up for the job and was very slow and behind the leg. Our guide was very young and really had no skill in making the guests feeling welcome and valued and added nothing to the quite terrible experience. We will not be returning and will not be recommending this riding establishment which is a shame considering our experience 5 years ago,

Amazing.
Jun 2021 • Family
My son Tyler is on the spectrum and loves horse riding. Here at coloured cob they are truly amazing with him. They are welcoming and it is very well organised. We look forward to going everytime and every single person is so lovely.

He doesn't get on well with animals at all, he is really scared of cats, dogs, hamsters you name it but with horses it's totally different and we're so lucky to have found coloured cob.

I booked a lesson today on recommendation for a friend. I cannot rate this place highly enough. The horses and ponies are in beautiful condition and very kind and lovely to ride. The staff are exceptional. And so friendly. Loved my afternoon experience and will be back for more very soon
Thanks for a lovely day

A lovely day out
Jun 2021
Written by my Girlfriend: "My boyfriend surprised me with a couples trek and carriage ride for my birthday. From beginning to end it was such a lovely experience. Our guides (Kennedy and Caitlin) were fantastic. Such young women, but so mature and professional. They took the time to answer every question we had and were always in control of the horses. I was very impressed. Needless to say, the scenery was perfect and the horses were gorgeous as well. The carriage ride was very romantic and I couldn't recommend it enough. It comes with a bottle of prosecco and you're made to feel very special. The owner Gale, is so warm and passionate about the work she and the rest of the staff do and I'm so grateful to her for helping my boyfriend arrange such a memorable afternoon. If you're thinking of making a visit, don't think twice!"

A wonderful experience with Ponies for our daughter
Jun 2021
We've been 3 times to Coloured Cob and our daughter has had a wonderful time each time. The service excellent, the organisation spot on and everyone is friendly. They even remembered which pony my daughter loved last time and made sure she had the same one on her return.

The first time we went was because we were holidaying nearby, but we love it so much we travelled for over an hour so our daughter could have a lesson there.

Horse riding with a difference
Jun 2021 • Friends
It was hard to find somewhere that does side saddle so was happy when we found this place does. £25 for half an hour which was half the price somewhere else quoted us. Although I was put off from the start when out instucter didn't even introduce her self then talking on the yard as if we wasnt even there. But she was happy to chat as we was riding. I was expecting more from the experience. I did expect the horse to already be warmed up and that we would be able to do more than walk and trot in the same direction in the school. Was hoping for a canter to see what that is like side saddle. I was slightly worried about falling off sideways but one's on felt safe as on a cob easy to sit to and theres no chance of that the horse wasn't very foward going and wouldn't listen to me when asking for trot the instructor had to get him to move. He wasn't good on the bit. so I had to give him all the rein. I did find it hard to keep shoulders back sat in that position because you naturally go with the movement of the horse and sat in this position throws you forward a bit. Be prepared to take off your right chap cuz the zip would ruin the really old saddle they use. So don't where long riding boots cuz you might be asked to take them off. Now after sat on a horse it has made me want to start riding again. Didn't feel like half an hour was enough so go for the hour one for £40

Lovely horses and stunning scenery
May 2021 • Friends
I live half an hour away from coloured cob and had a friend staying for the weekend, we are both keen riders although I hadn't ridden for over year and I thought it would be lovely to hack out together. We went on a 1 hour hack to include the crags, the horses had lovely temperaments and we felt safe walking and trotting, the scenery of the crags and the quary was stunning, there are a few riding centres on my doorstep but nothing that can offer the same terrain, I will be back soon for the 2 hour ride where we will hopefully have some canters😄. Thanks Cheryl for an enjoyable experience.

A Carriage Driving Birthday surprise.
May 2021 • Solo
Excellent all round. Lovely staff, well cared for and loved horses. I was shown and participated in fitting the harness and driving two very different carriages and all with a very experienced coach by my side. What a lovely way to see Cresswell Crags. Check out their Web site, they do so much, it's a busy happy yard.

Thank you so much for my private lesson with Bryony in the school. I thoroughly enjoyed it and learnt so much from her. My horse Major was great, such a lovely boy! Keep up the great work you do everyone!
