If you have little or no experience in horse racing and have always considered it, then Nottingham is a superb place to try. A beautiful setting with wonderful views. We were welcomed by a bright sunny autumn afternoon. First stop the rails, where we took in the gorgeous aroma of the freshly cut grass. The whole course was amazing. Our choice for the day was lunch and drinks in The Sherwood restaurant overlooking the course (right on the finish line). Very nice, well-presented food, and a good wine list. Wonderful friendly service throughout our stay as well as easy, helpful betting on the Tote. The restaurant offers lots of TV's with up to date info on races as well as easy access to the stands to soak up the fabulous atmosphere of the racing. Absolutely fantastic.…

My Sister, Neice, Grandmother and I attended the Vintage Carnival held in August, the tickets were fairly priced. The event was very well organised. The music was fantastic! The outfits and dancing was brilliant. The stalls were great and so were the cars. Sadly the rain reared its ugly head but we didn't let that dampen our day. Lovely day, really hope it's on again next year! …

This is an excellent racecourse for watching the races but in any event the huge TV allows all to get equally excited or disappointed. Just a short bus journey from the city centre it wasn't too busy when we called but the racing was good. As ever with racecourses the price of the drink was borderline prohibitively expensive not so much because we couldn't afford it but rather it's more the fact that lots of people arn't keen on being unashamedly ripped off - but nothing too different here from other racecourses - which isn't a good thing ! Some eateries and pretty gardens abounding to the back of the stands. Not too expensive to access ...... but don't go for a skin full !…

We went for the Tuesday afternoon racing. We were staying in Nottingham centre so took a short taxi ride to the racecourse, recommend you book for your return journey or wait wait 3/4 of an hour like we had to. The racecourse was stunning, something for everyone food and drink wise, great to see lots of children. A great race card, lovely afternoons racing assisted by the good weather, we enjoyed it so much we are coming again.…

The staff were very good as they usually are at all racetrack but with the weather being overcast, colder than usual and showers its not the best track to be sitting in a wheelchair. We knew the rain we drove in from Chepstow was coming our way but I like to see the horses and there is no where under shelter to be able to see the track and I ended up watching the third race in the bar. We left early in between down pours and got home just in time for the rain to follow us again! This is wheelchair friendly but I don't think I would go again unless the weather was going to be dry!…
