A fun night out but some of the worst bar staff I’ve ever experienced. No concept of a queue and there was a pink haired girl far more bothered by cleaning than dealing with the ever-increasing queue. Not amused…

First time to the Nottingham course. Easy to get to, straight off the main road and into the car park. Parking free and entrance gates to course next to car park so very short walk to get in. The course itself is one of the smallest i have been too. Very compact and not much space to walk around in terms of land and countryside, however it is on the edges of a major city so to be expected i guess. On the day the meeting was not really busy which made it more enjoyable for us. Toilets good and there was a little sweets shop for the kid. Only negative was that food outlets are card only which is discriminatory against people who prefer paying by cash, people who do not have a bank account with a debit card and people who have certain impairments and who like paying by cash so that they can work out how much they have and what they have spent such as myself. Car payments only is not legal and needs addressing. A formal complaint i am considering out of protest. Also, no signs on the food outlets themselves indicating that it is card only payment which caused a slight issue when i had queued up and was served. Luckily someone i was with had a card but it was embarrassing. That aside, a lovely, well kept course, loads of benches to sit and a very enjoyable afternoon racing experience.

If you have little or no experience in horse racing and have always considered it, then Nottingham is a superb place to try. A beautiful setting with wonderful views. We were welcomed by a bright sunny autumn afternoon. First stop the rails, where we took in the gorgeous aroma of the freshly cut grass. The whole course was amazing. Our choice for the day was lunch and drinks in The Sherwood restaurant overlooking the course (right on the finish line). Very nice, well-presented food, and a good wine list. Wonderful friendly service throughout our stay as well as easy, helpful betting on the Tote. The restaurant offers lots of TV's with up to date info on races as well as easy access to the stands to soak up the fabulous atmosphere of the racing. Absolutely fantastic.

My Sister, Neice, Grandmother and I attended the Vintage Carnival held in August, the tickets were fairly priced. The event was very well organised. The music was fantastic! The outfits and dancing was brilliant. The stalls were great and so were the cars. Sadly the rain reared its ugly head but we didn't let that dampen our day. Lovely day, really hope it's on again next year!

This is an excellent racecourse for watching the races but in any event the huge TV allows all to get equally excited or disappointed. Just a short bus journey from the city centre it wasn't too busy when we called but the racing was good. As ever with racecourses the price of the drink was borderline prohibitively expensive not so much because we couldn't afford it but rather it's more the fact that lots of people arn't keen on being unashamedly ripped off - but nothing too different here from other racecourses - which isn't a good thing !

Some eateries and pretty gardens abounding to the back of the stands. Not too expensive to access ...... but don't go for a skin full !

We went for the Tuesday afternoon racing. We were staying in Nottingham centre so took a short taxi ride to the racecourse, recommend you book for your return journey or wait wait 3/4 of an hour like we had to. The racecourse was stunning, something for everyone food and drink wise, great to see lots of children. A great race card, lovely afternoons racing assisted by the good weather, we enjoyed it so much we are coming again.

The staff were very good as they usually are at all racetrack but with the weather being overcast, colder than usual and showers its not the best track to be sitting in a wheelchair.
We knew the rain we drove in from Chepstow was coming our way but I like to see the horses and there is no where under shelter to be able to see the track and I ended up watching the third race in the bar. We left early in between down pours and got home just in time for the rain to follow us again!
This is wheelchair friendly but I don't think I would go again unless the weather was going to be dry!

Thank you for your review. If you do decide to come again on a rainy day I would suggest making use of our Centenary Bar which overlooks the track and has lift access. Hopefully we will welcome you back to Nottingham Racecourse in the near future. kind Regards, James Knox

Had a good day out to Nottingham racecourse. It is a fairly small set up but a well maintained course. However we waited 45 minutes to be served with our first drink and a good half an hour for each other drink. The bar staff are extremely slow and this needs addressing. We missed one of the races because of this. There were plenty of food outlets but it lacked in bar facilities. This really needs to be sorted out.
All staff were so helpful and friendly especially on the entrance with the scanner operators.
I would come back here in future but the queues at the bar needs to be looked into.

We decided to go to Nottingham Races , so before the event I looked online and found that Nottingham Racecourse offered a discount and a variety of packages for the evening racing. I decided to book 2 Grandstand tickets with a pint or soft drink and a hog roast for £15 per person. So as the event was near I choose to pay £2 to collect my tickets on the evening from the Racecourse ticket office. On arrival this procedure was very simple . The package I purchased was well worth buying online in advance as on the day the entrance fee was £15 a pint was £4.70 ( with £1 refundable if you took your plastic cup back to the bar) and a hog roast was £6 , or you could have a fish and chip package . All the staff at the Race course from start to finish were very helpful. There were staff going round constantly cleaning the outside/public areas. It was a wonderful evening and we will be booking online to attend again very soon. We also booked and stayed at the Nearby Colwick Hall . Which is in walking distance to the Race course. If you book a superior room there you get a room with a view and can see the Race course etc. Well worth a stay .
