We spent most of the day here and recommend you visit when there are guides. These people take on the persona of the figures from history who were responsible for keeping " justice" in the town .The actors and actresses playing the parts were excellent and gave everyone a true flavour of the horrors of jail life in the middle... I visiited the Galleries of Justice a few years ago and found it very interesting. I had relatives visiting and decided to take them there. The entrance to up to the building and the reception area was very impressive. We were greeted by the sheriff of Nottingham ( all the characters were dressed in period dress and spoke in that... We've been here a few times and have enjoyed it every time. The actors are great. My son loved the court re-enactment and the trip around the yard. Well worth another visit!

This very interesting legal museum is based in the old Shire Hall, the centre of trials, administration, execution and imprisonment for centuries. You can't just wander round the museum, but must join a guided tour. Our tour was conducted by two actors, both of them entertaining as far as it went. But personally, I don't care for a jocular approach... More

Great actors today really committed and told a great story on each part of the tour. Lot's of passion and have to say fair play as we where the last tour and they still gave it their best. Very very impressive

The Galleries of Justice was excellent. There were people acting out parts who were very good. We took part in a court re-enactment of a trial of witches (it was Halloween) and the children took various parts. We all enjoyed our visit and the various actors and storytellers made it a really good day.

Me and my Husband went to the galleries of justice, to do the crime and punishment tour, we were first greeted in the hall/foyer of the building, then our 2 tour guides took us in to the court room which was very interesting, we then carried on our tour where we were met by another tour guide who told us...
