Tour guide was very informative, actors were very good and realistic. It was quite scary as there were only 3 of us on our tour as it was in the week. We went in an authentic dark cell to feel how the prisoners would experience being in jail. Well worth the money (got a deal with the Caves as well).... More

We all dressed up for a sheriffs banquet and dined in front of the Sheriff of Nottingham followed by a tour of the cells, caves and courtrooms

this place is well worth a visit ,take your time and let the history of the place captivate you .real people were jailed, transported and even hung here at one time hung on the steps at front of building and people stayed in the inn opposite to get a better view.this is not HOLLYWOOD.its real.

Not sure what I expected but this far exceeded any expectations I had. Great tour guides who really played their roles to perfection and really knew their history. Perhaps not for the very young as a bit gruesome in places and also there were lots of steps involved so again not for those who are no too steady on their... More

I loved this place and it was very authentic. However, what went on in the "good old days" scared my daughter to tears and is quite frightening. Depending upon your child, I would definitely recommend for families with kids over 11 or kids who revel in "Horrible Histories" type books.

I've been wanting to visit here for several years....it was well worth the wait. Entrance was £9.95 and we bought a programme for £2.95. Essentially the first 90 minutes is a guided tour and the guides dressed up as various char tees bring crime and punishment of the past back to life. The galleries of justice museum is in the... I went to the Galleries with my class, and the tour guides immersed themselves in their roles of judge, jailer, and matron. I really enjoyed learning about the museum's history and how prisons and courts have evolved in Nottingham (and the UK). Well-worth visiting.

The actors really set the scene on the tour and tell you lots of interesting information. Me and my partner learnt alot and you get to see so much. A particular favourite was the exercise yard that had some prisoners names and tally charts etched into the brick. If you are interested in crime and history you must visit!
