About
Perfectly located in the heart of the country, with excellent access to all major transport networks, Nottingham Greyhound Stadium is quite simply the home of greyhound racing in the East Midlands. The stadium is situated just two miles from the City Centre and only one mile from Nottingham Forest FC, Notts County FC and Trent Bridge Cricket Club at Colwick Park in the same complex as the horse racecourse. Car parking at the stadium is free. Nottingham Greyhound Stadium offers great entertainment at affordable prices for corporate hospitality, special occasions and everyone who wants to enjoy the thrill of live greyhound racing. The stadium has a top quality restaurant, three bars and a snack bar with plenty of viewing inside and out so customers can enjoy the thrill of live racing whatever the weather. A flutter costs as little as 50p so you don't have to be a millionaire to enjoy a night at the dogs. The track races every Monday, Friday and Saturday evening throughout the year.

Where do I begin! The night itself was enjoyable but that was entirely down to the people we were with; if we had have been relying on the food and service to make our night we would have been severely disappointed! We sat down and ordered our drinks (I asked for disaronno and was told this wasn’t sold, this wasn’t a problem but when a member of the party later tried to order a tia Maria they were told that wasn’t served but that they do amaretto, this is in no way an alternative for tia Maria and is in fact an alternative for disaronno so I would suggest a little more training for the team, as it also took a couple of cokes returned from other tables and 5 of them discussing the issue before they realised it wasn’t normal to see through the Coke) the order for our starters and mains was taken quite quickly, the starters arrived straight away with our drinks not turning up for another 5 minutes. This wasn’t to big an issue and we assumed this was going to be how the service ran all night, how wrong were we!! They began clearing our starters whilst a member of our party was still eating which we found rather rushed and rude; but to top it off they only cleared half of our starters away and didn’t come back for the rest for another 15 minutes when they returned to take another drink order and we had moved them to the end of the table. We then had the waitress who took our order ask us if we had ordered our food yet, safe to say we were all a little confused about this seeing as we had received our starters and had ordered with her. After several times of asking about our mains and 2+ hours later they finally arrived! The waitress did say she’d been to ask where they were several times and that the chefs were getting annoyed with her for asking. Our ticket was apparently moved up the line which to me sounds like they lost our ticket and had to add it in because a 2 hour wait between starters and mains is beyond a joke!! The cod was enjoyable, they must have ran out of cabbage as the chicken also turned up with kale and apparently the curries were tasteless. Coffees and desserts were ordered quickly once mains were cleared and arrived quickly too, from how slow our mains arrived it now felt like we were being rushed as the races had finished! I would return for a night with friends but I wouldn’t be returning for the dining experience, we would probably stick to the bar area.

Disgraceful

Disgraceful that a place like this is still open. Sincerely hope it will not be around for long. Housing is needed, cruelty isn't.

better than other tracks
Sep 2021
Visited this stadium for a night out with family while staying in Lincolnshire. Booked tickets over the phone, had no issues getting in with the virtual tickets, security staff were really helpful, wasn't keen on the virtual racecard, purchased a proper one when we arrived. Was a quiet night there, bar area and food area was very clean and found staff really nice. Bets were taken promptly and correctly, friendly tote staff.
Ordered food, though not everything was available ( common everywhere at the moment) it was not an issue. Food was cooked freshly and of good quality. Unbelievable how cheap it was, maybe tracks further south should take note!
stayed until last race, really good night, nice atmosphere, easy parking and a great track - broke even on the night so a good cheap nights entertainment. Will definitly return if I have the chance.

Badly organized
Sep 2021 • Couples
Very Badly organized. Food came out cold. We was unable to see the track and the TV's were blurry. No room to move. Tables close together. I sat on the end of the table and had to keep dodging the waitresses coming down the isle we huge trays. We left early

No food
Aug 2021 • Couples
We visited the stadium as 3. Couples and bought the pie and mash package . When we went to get our food . We were told there was nothing left . We could have some chips if we wanted . Now the course wasn’t busy . They know how many tickets they have sold but still run out . The chips didn’t look great . So we had to go with no food . I did email them but they were uninterested I emailed again and didn’t even get a reply . We paid for food and didn’t get any . Won’t be going back

Night at the dogs
Jul 2021
Had a great night at the racecourse, well run event and well done to all for putting on a super night 30/07/2021. Food was very nice and the staff worked hard throughout. Special mention to Carole who took our bets and supplied a sense of humour. Hats of to you all and good luck ramping up after the lockdown. Finally, hope the one dog that had an accident racing round the bend makes a full recovery,

Who let the dogs out!!
Oct 2019 • Friends
Visited here with a group of friends for a birthday celebration,if your on a budget and not wanting a royal treatment then Nottingham dogs is a venue to try
Seating inside and outdoor areas for viewing if you’d prefer,it was chilly when we visited so opted to sit indoors and walk out for all the races
The food however is classic dog food and I think the reason there’s so much left is even the racing dogs turn it down at the end of an evening, very over priced for what is served
But all in all, friends for a drink and a laugh is worth a try,too tip....pick a winner with the best name, works a treat every time 😉

A Classic night out
Feb 2020
A trip to the Greyhound stadium was a classic night out with friends on a very cold evening, food was great, entertainment of betting on the dogs went quickly, service was slower than normal but that was due mainly normal amount of staff but more people in the restaurant which was a shame but didn't stop us having a great time again.
