Fontaines DC - Boys In The Better Land
Nov 2019 • Friends
Monday 18th November here for 2019 Rough Trade album of the year winners with Fontaines DC playing live, the place was packed, the sound was good, atmosphere electric, craft beer from the Beavertown Brewery had a crisp IPA & then very nice punchy blood orange pale, superb stuff.

Vinyl heaven!
Nov 2019 • Couples
A trip to Nottingham is not complete without a trip to Rough Trade!

We never fail to buy an album, there’s so much choice! They’ve definitely upped their game and offer more indie albums now.

There’s also an excellent music/art/current affairs book section, many that I’ve never seen on sale anywhere else.

This is no reflection on the bands or record store

We attended the Stars in their Eyes all day event which was very good. However... on using the toilet I actually felt sick, 4 cubicles- 1 filthy (don’t ask🤮), one broken lock, 1 blocked, 1 broken- disgusting, filthy and explicit graffiti. The other toilet with urinals apparently was just as bad and stinking. The last event I attended there, I witnessed public drug use, which when reported to staff was ignored, I ended up looking after one female patron who was completely out of it and very vulnerable. I understand there are children’s events held here, I definitely wouldn’t take my child to these toilets. Maybe grab a coffee at Broadway Cinema and use theirs (they are immaculate). Rough Trade is one of the few small venues for music in Nottingham, but until they improve their hygiene and act upon illegal activities, I will not be returning

Music blended with hearty food
Oct 2018 • Family
Just called in to check out the vinyl here and ended up using the photo booth and then called in for food in the warehouse style cafe. This place has a great vibe not just because of the music choices but there are loads of visual treats, lots of space and a great selection of drinks to choose from as well. We enjoyed the comfort food (soup-dish with crusty bread) and had a drink too! Checked out the Iggy albums and looked for 'Defunkt' unfortunately without success this time.

Live music
Oct 2018 • Friends
I usually go here to see live bands, been a fair few times and would tell anyone to go, however when it comes to hygiene, the loos are male and shared, and not very clean, also I personally witnessed one of the bar staff sweeping a table with the sweeping brush he just swept the floor with, I was not impressed. I give it no stars for hygiene and 3 stars for the bands, they need to move the stage to face the tables and bar. The sound would travel better and they should also knock out the pillar that stands in the middle of the room.

Really nice little place
Sep 2018 • Couples
We came to see the Joy Formidable album launch show, for a 45 minute show the only payment was to buy a copy of the CD. We browsed round the shop for a while beforehand and could have spent quite a lot! The little bar in the upstairs is excellent with very cheap prices (£2 for a bottle of low-alcohol beer - I was driving). Well impressed.

Music lovers paradise...
Jul 2018 • Solo
As a music lover this place is like paradise, could spend easily an hour here browsing. They have lots of in-store bands that play regularly including some top artists, see behind the counter for the latest information. Some great products including lots of signed items and exclusive editions. Great staff too!!

Vinyls galore!
Apr 2018 • Couples
A trip to Nottingham now means a trip to rough trade!
Quite possibly one of the best vinyl stores we have visited. Though there could be more indie/metal choices, we never fail to buy something!
