Nice place to visit at various times of the year with special events in theis area, which in the summer includes a man made sea side with tonnes of sand for youngsters to play in with relative safety.

The day we went was dull and the square was colourless. All the people seemed depressed too. Maybe better when sunny.

think they have spoilt it,when i was a kid there used to be fountains and flowerbeds and you could sit in it. They have different things going one thoughout the year, like christmas market plus an ice rink, and the have a beach in the summer.

The square was full to bursting with things to do with cricket, cricket games you could play everywhere, then a huge square with people in deck chairs watching a live tv

Plenty to see as you walk round but dominated by the magnificent Council House with huge lions outside, looking like a state capitol. Just off the square is the building that Boots the Chemist stared in. Strongly recommend a visit to the tourist information centre....More

The square was being set up with a big screen for the World Cup cricket , so it was full of workmen , I’m sure it will be great for cricket fans

It was nice to take a walk to the old Market Square and take in some of the buildings, the trams are a nice addition.
