Cool
Aug 2021 • Friends
Ludorati Cafe is a very cool cafe thats also a great destination for gaming enthusiasts, all manner of electronic gaming devices and a multitude of board games ,its cool of you're into that type of thing, the cafe also serves great coffee.
We were here on a Thursday afternoon, we got a great flat white coffee each, from the first sip till the last sup you can tell they use quality ingredients in their coffee and take great pride in the coffee they serve, atmosphere in here is friendly, staff very welcoming, couldn't fault anything about our visit.
Ludorati Cafe is easy to locate along Maid Marian Way and is open from Midday Monday to Sunday, most definitely well worth checking out if you're in the area.

You can lose hours in this place!
Mar 2020
I've been to Ludorati a few times now and each time have enjoyed it immensely.

There's a huge selection of games to choose from and the staff are more than happy to help when it comes to recommending games that you might enjoy. They also serve food and drinks (alcoholic and non-alcoholic) at reasonable prices.

There's a dedicated room for escape rooms or some other activities that I haven't tried yet but it looks fun!

Learning new games can be difficult and time consuming so my only recommendation is to have more demos for how the more complex games are played. A (potentially expensive) idea would be to have a fixed tablet/ipad on each table which has the catalogue of games stored within it along a few minutes demo on each for how to set up the game and how to play.

Lovely place
Jan 2020
Ludorati is a very clean and spacious gaming cafe. The tables and chairs are comfortable and the game selection is wide. Didn't really try that many new games but revisited some old favourites which was lovely. A catalogue of game suggestions would be useful if you'd like to try new ones depending on the games you like eg. if you like monopoly, you might like these games... The price to play the games is justifiable, however, the membership card only offers 10% off bar food and drink which doesn't make much of an impact as I felt that these were overpriced for what was actually on offer. Staff were friendly though and left us to our own devices which was pleasant.

Fascinating and unique place
Dec 2019 • Solo
I enjoy board games and this place caught my eye when staying over the road at the Travelodge. Went to investigate and was warmly welcomed by the staff - I was on my own so a lovely staff member gave me a tour and said I was welcome to browse as long as I wanted. Got chatting to a meetup group who invited me for a game of Imhotep (none of us played before, but we all had a good time). It was a wonderful surprise visit - I was staying over for work so didn't expect an impromptu game night.
The collection of games is impressive, and staff are very knowledgeable. Would highly recommend a visit if you like board games.

Comfortable, good service and fun
Oct 2019
This is a good place to come for a bit of social fun with friends or family and is suitable for all ages. The cafe is clean, comfortable, has lots of games to choose from which are suitable for all ages and abilities and serves good quality drinks and food. The service is also good, friendly and attentive.
If you don't want to play a game, it's still a good place to go for break with coffee and cake.
I would definitely recommend this place and we'll be visiting it again this weekend.

Great venue... could do with a few ‘ordinary games’.

Four of us spent a couple of hours in this gaming cafe on Saturday afternoon. To be honest I’d never heard of the place but went with an open mind on the insistence of my friends.
The clientelele were a mixture of ages, including some children. The atmosphere was relaxing and pleasant. We didn’t eat, but all enjoyed the fruit smoothies served by the lovely staff members.
My only criticism would be that as we don’t go in for fantasy type games we found it challenging to find games that we felt comfortable playing. Due to this we spent our time at the free tables enjoying playing a game of Uno which was great fun.
We’ll definitely return it this quirky cafe and think it’d be great a welcoming venue during the Autumn/Winter months.

Great games cafe

There was a huge choice of games and the staff were friendly. I had a milkshake which was really nice. It was a really nice atmosphere in there and we found the price to rent a table very reasonable.

Great couple of hours
Aug 2019
Easy to find, lost of choice of board games, good cafe & good value for money.
Majority of the games are (or looked) fantasy/mythical based but we were able to find easier ones for us, would like to see
more classic childhood games (kerplunk, buckaroo etc).

Fairly accessible ♿️

LUDORATI 🎲♟ I loved spending my evening playing games and drinking with my friend! If you fancy a chilled night but fancy something a bit a different, try here!

💚ALL ACCESS💚
Anywhere I wanted to go, I could! It’s all on one floor so easy to get around!

💚PARKING💚
There are two NCP car parks (St James Street and Maid Marion way) both of which have accessible bays, it’s just depends if you want to struggle up the hill on your way to Ludorati or on your way back!

💚TOILET FACILITIES💚
Nice and clean accessible toilet just next to the bar - red cord too!

💚STAFF💚
Friendly and helpful.

📒ENTRANCE📒
So Ludorati is on a hill but you can’t hold that against them! There is also a couple of steps down after the front door but staff are ready to whip out their sturdy metal ramp when you enter or leave.

📒SPACE📒
I so wanted to give this place 💚 but because so many of the games are out of reach you need someone to help you! Otherwise it’s easy to get around and tables are far enough apart to manoeuvre about.

📒PUBLIC TRANSPORT📒
It’s just over 3 minutes from the tram line and most of the busses, there is a bus stop not too far away but it wouldn’t be too useful!

👶 Child-friendly

Amazing selection of board games and yummy food!
Aug 2018 • Solo
Ludorati is the place to go if you feel like playing board games, they have so many you can't be disappointed!
You can come as a group and rent games, or come alone on Sunday, Monday or Tuesday nights and join the socials, in any case fun is guaranteed!
In addition to that the staff is very nice and friendly, and they serve extremely yummy cakes, huge shakes, and a selection of savoury food too (and delicious smoothies if you try to be healthy!)
I'm a total fan, you can't dream of a better way to spend an afternoon or an evening!
