I booked in for abseiling this past Saturday for my partner, godson and myself and from booking online we received really great service. Pete our instructor messaged us first thing so we had his telephone number should we find ourselves needing to contact him. All details in the confrontation email were clear and concise so we found our way to the meeting point easily. Parking required us to wait a few minutes in the car for a space but we had arrived 30 minutes early so that also wasn’t an issue. There is a snack bar and restrooms on hand adjoining the car park which proved handy and Pete was easy to find and was also punctual and welcoming. We felt completely at ease and excited for our mini adventure and our 7 year old godson was not at all daunted by the safety information provided as Pete kept it simple and brief while making it lighthearted. When we asked our godson what he was feeling before his first go he said “a little nervous because we are as high as the trees but mostly excited”. We each managed to abseil 4 times and in the godsons words “it was awesome, I felt like a spy in a movie!”. A sentiment absolutely shared by the big kid in my life, my partner who I’m sure also thought he was James Bond for the afternoon judging by his large grin on his face. A really beautiful location and very reasonably priced. Would highly recommend it. Thanks Pete 👍🏻

Thanks for the review and posting photos Jessica. A great session was had by all and it's so good when small groups come together like that and work so well, sharing the experience. The little man did very well in an all adult group, even tho some of the adults were acting like kids 😂

I completed this with my 12 yr old son, my friend and his 12 yr old daughter. Met on time and then off to the bridge, an option once we got there depending on how adventurous we were feeling and then our lessons on how to do it stage by stage. All of this done with appropriate social distancing and hygiene measures in place.
We all had a few nerves (some more than others) and yet we all overcame these step by step, Pete was wonderful in how he guided both the children and the adults through the steps...so much that we were all descending at pace by our final go. A great adventure that was made even better by the location and Pete.
Thank you.

Thanks Mark, you were a great little group to work with. A week in, and I'm now getting used to the new way of working. It takes a wee while to break 35 years worth of habits. A certain young man should be very proud of his achievements.

What a great experience and Pete was a brilliant instructor. My son and I both took part along with two others. Pete made us feel at ease and just got on with it but made sure we knew what we were doing. My son, who is 11, thoroughly enjoyed it and was just annoyed he wasn’t heavy enough to be able to go faster! We could have as many jumps as we liked but you do get quite tired, especially after climbing the stairs back up. I would highly recommend this to anyone, a great way to spend a couple of hours.

Ha! Thanks Kate. It never looks good when I have to put rocks in the kids pockets to make them more heavy. You'll just have to feed him more and come back for a return challenge in a year's time 😂

Best way to spend a morning in Derbyshire. You could go for another walk or have another coffee or you could jump off a bridge on the monsal trail for a few hours with a hugely professional team for the price of a decent lunch. I was a complete novice and loved every second

Had an absolutely fantastic time.

Pete was incredibly professional, focussing on safety the whole time, but kept it very funny and enjoyable as well.

Recommend for anyone.

We did the Saturday morning 9am session, which we think was the best choice as we had the session to ourselves and so had loads of time, doing four abseils each.

It was actually a 9.30 am start, even I don't like a 9 am start, but you are correct. You are more likely to have a private session, or smaller group in the morning as it is often quieter. When you've had your morning adventure, the cafe AND pub are open to retire too for well earned refreshments 🍴🍷🍺

Well worth the money not expensive either. The more people you book the cheaper it is. We wasn't hanging around waiting . quick briefing and the guys had good sense of humour. had two ropes going down, one over the water and the other not.your choice which you wanted to do. Got 2 and half hours with 9 in the group as many goes as you wanted but remember the more time you go down the more times you have to walk the steps back up. You can take your own pictures and even take a go pro of you have one

Thanks Lucy 😂 Yep, said it once and I'll say it again, what goes down has to come back up. It's the steps back up that finish most folk off 🤪😉

What a great experience! Booked this for a family birthday challenge and really enjoyed it, despite my initial nerves. Pete was a brilliant instructor, friendly and assured and we felt in very safe hands. Will definitely go back to do the higher abseil over the river from the middle of the bridge.

Thanks for the 5 STAR review Jane. Now that the children are 'experts' we can't wait to get the return visit in so that you can all do the biggy. It's the best view of the River Wye you can get 👍

Went there today with my 16 year old twins and it was awesome. So, before the day, Pete text messaged to introduce himself and give some final instructions. We met him in the car park and he is a lovely bloke, really friendly and passionate about what he does. In total there were 5 of us with him and he went out of his way to make us all feel welcome. A short walk to the bridge and then he thoroughly explained every step of each abseil, putting everyone at ease. He is very safety conscious and doesn't cut any corners. All in all an amazing few hours that I would recommend to everyone in the area.

Awesome experience. My husband and I have never abseiled before and I am scared of heights, however this was an amazing experience. Peter the instructor was brilliant and I felt 100% safe and confident in his very experienced hands. He explained everything really well and did not put any pressure on anyone who didn’t want to do it. We both really enjoyed it and would definitely do it again. Thanks Peter for making a couple of scaredy cats feel at ease and happy to do it. Would definitely recommend.
