Not 100, not 500 but 1000 acres of Northumberland moorland and forest play home to this magnificent, elegant Edwardian mansion. That the interiors are almost as dramatic as the exterior says it all. This is very old world grandeur with a modern twist. Bask in the warmth of the reception you receive on arrival, dine at Hadrian's Brasserie, or at the Duke's Grill. Indulge with a vichy water spa treatment or just flop in the fantastic indoor pool. The great outdoors doesn’t get much greater. After a bracing country walk in the wilds, or round on our championship golf course, retire to the Claret Jug and the 19th Bar for a stiff brandy. Surely you deserve it ?

This was our third visit to this Hotel for Christmas and we vowed it would definitely be our last. The experience was spoiled by the fact there was no festive atmosphere, hardly any decorations to be seen, no management at all to tell us what was going on where. A band playing seasonal music who were stuck out of the... More

Day spa was arranged for me and 6 friends/family. The day spa included lunch and treatments. The spa itself is fine however there are not enough beds around the pool. We went on a Saturday which is clearly a busy day. The changing rooms are not big enough for more than 5 people to get changed, dry hair etc. The... More

Stayed in the hotel and used the Spa facilities. I had treatments booked on our second day and were given a gown but on our arrival day there were no gowns left. Not enough lockers in the female changing, I got the last one and ladies coming in as I finished changing had no locker. We were advised as we... More

I visited in August as a birthday present for my sister. I booked the Espa afternoon tea experience a number of months ago and the offer shown on the website was priced at £120. Whilst I understand I have no proof of the price via the email correspondence sent, I was surprised to be charged £150 on arrival with no... More

Just done a lovely spa deal with my mum . A super experience. We loved the treatments - so relaxing. We loved the staff - bent over backwards to welcome us and accommodate us. We liked the fact we could have drinks around the pool. We enjoyed the slide - big kids at heart. The sauna was great too. The... More

The excellent spa treatments were given by lovely staff so I have given this spa experience one star. We were shown to the communal changing room to change into swimsuits. We eventually found one very tatty single cubicle which we had to queue for as many people felt it was inappropriate to undress in front of families including young boys... More

Three friends and I booked a spa day for a birthday celebration. The pool area is OK, if a little noisy, however the changing facilities are really shabby, the worst I've found up to now. Also one of the female toilets could not lock and there was no toilet paper! On a brighter note, the afternoon tea was very nice... More

Had a lovely gel manicure in the Spa today. Lisa was really nice and she has done the manicure to a brilliant standard. Nice relaxation room to enjoy beforehand and good choice of colours etc to choose from. Can't wait for next time.

A friend of my wife decided to give her a voucher for a champagne afternoon tea for two at Slaley Hall hotel as a birthday present. We took our seats and were asked if would like our glass of champagne straight away and when it arrived at the table it was flat and lifeless, obviously the bottle had been opened... More

Spent 2 nights here with small children on a DBB rate. The family room was clean and spacious although a bit dated. The bathroom was clean and more modern. Comfy beds and nice extras like bottled water included free of charge. We ate in Hadrian's Brasserie which was excellent. Very good food and set menu choices, service was good and... More
