Not 100, not 500 but 1000 acres of Northumberland moorland and forest play home to this magnificent, elegant Edwardian mansion. That the interiors are almost as dramatic as the exterior says it all. This is very old world grandeur with a modern twist. Bask in the warmth of the reception you receive on arrival, dine at Hadrian's Brasserie, or at the Duke's Grill. Indulge with a vichy water spa treatment or just flop in the fantastic indoor pool. The great outdoors doesn’t get much greater. After a bracing country walk in the wilds, or round on our championship golf course, retire to the Claret Jug and the 19th Bar for a stiff brandy. Surely you deserve it ?

Was bought a spa day with lunch for my 40th. Dreadful dreadful dreadful. All treatments done at same time and rushed. The therapist was looking at her watch constantly. Food tasteless, and very poor quality. Was taken to eat in restaurant, had to walk through hotel in dressing gown, was assured lots of people would be in dressing gowns, turns... More

We booked this as a little January "pick me up". We are regular Spa visitors, most recently we have had several wonderful trips to the Ramside in Durham. Bearing in mind that our standards are quite high and the Ramside is brand new and absolutely perfect I was nevertheless hughly disappointed. Upon arrival we wandered thorough endless corridors before finally... More

Booked a very reasonably priced spa package for myself and my husband to celebrate his 40th birthday. We have young children so I was looking for chance for us to relax, unwind and enjoy some quality time and fine dining. We weren't disappointed. The spa facilities were great, our massages were so amazing we both nodded off and the champagne... More

I bought a spa day at Slaley as a surprise present for my mum, I only wished I had read the reviews before doing so. Upon arriving the staff on reception couldn't find our booking both for the spa and for our 1 treatment, they didnt seem too phased by this as it must happen quite often! Once they had... More

My friend booked spa treat for us back in July for a 30mins treatment each and spa access. When we first entered the female changing room we immediately notice the piling of dirty towels everywhere, wet floors, rubbish from previous locker users, and worse of all was overcrowding. There was barely any room for us to get change. When we... More

My daughter booked us in here for a treat. We had my 2 granddaughters with us so asked for 2 adjoining rooms or inter connected rooms. We were told the hotel didn't have inter connecting which was odd as we'd stayed several times whilst owned by De Vere hotels and had interconnected rooms most of those times! We were put... More

This hotel and spa is unrecognisable from it's Devere days. Myself and 2 friends were presented with spa vouchers for treatment, spa and afternoon tea and it was was a terrible experience from arrival to treatment, ending with the worst afternoon tea i have ever eaten. Upon arrival, we were seated fully clothed in the overheated pool area and given... More

This was our third visit to this Hotel for Christmas and we vowed it would definitely be our last. The experience was spoiled by the fact there was no festive atmosphere, hardly any decorations to be seen, no management at all to tell us what was going on where. A band playing seasonal music who were stuck out of the... More

Day spa was arranged for me and 6 friends/family. The day spa included lunch and treatments. The spa itself is fine however there are not enough beds around the pool. We went on a Saturday which is clearly a busy day. The changing rooms are not big enough for more than 5 people to get changed, dry hair etc. The... More

Stayed in the hotel and used the Spa facilities. I had treatments booked on our second day and were given a gown but on our arrival day there were no gowns left. Not enough lockers in the female changing, I got the last one and ladies coming in as I finished changing had no locker. We were advised as we... More
