A Victorian Gothic masterpiece
Mar 2020
Northampton is a town to explore on foot as, in among the modern buildings, you will find historic gems such as this flamboyant Victorian Gothic Guildhall. Opposite is a classical building which looks like a former market hall and now also includes the tourist information office, but seems to be part of the local authority office complex.

I didn't go inside as I was going to a meeting at the university, but I note that other reviewers here have, so it is something to investigate next time I am in Northampton.

A most famous building and right in the center of town. Don't rush around take your time and breathe in the beauty, take some photo's and become a Northamptonian for a couple of hours. Did you know that Typhoon Tyson (Fast Bowler) played for Northamptonshire at the county ground.

Stunning
Oct 2019
This gothic town hall is just lovely. The sculptures add to the attraction to. It is a government administrative building but a public asset so worth visiting.

It is beautiful from the outside but step into the old building and it is like stepping back in time with great sense of history.

A real must place to visit.

Fabulous Guildhall
Sep 2019
Several, more well known, tourist towns advertise their town halls. Few can equal the fabulous building Northampton maintains to a high standard. The interior celebrates an amazing succession of town mayors, it’s architecture is striking and in a courtyard are statues of famous local people. This is a fine example of civic pride at its best. Well worth a couple of hours to explore.

Northampton's Pride!
Aug 2019
The Guildhall is rightly famous as an example of gothic architecture and civic pride. As with all good town halls, it celebrates local history and local heroes. The modern addition includes a courtyard where local heroes are represented by sitting or standing statues.

The exterior stone work of the gothic building is really good but the interior is, if anything, even better. However, we could not get to see much due to the doorkeepers telling us that it is a "working building" and so not available at the time that we arrived. It would be good if the council did something to make it more accessible.

Beautiful building
May 2019 • Couples
A striking building in the middle of the town and worthy of all the praise in reviews. The open air square in the newer part of the building had some interesting statues/sculptures around the benches. Definitely worth a visit.
