Lovely country pub with excellent Sunday lunch and vegan/vegetarian options
Aug 2020
We discovered this lovely pub in the tiny village of Hinton in the Hedges driving home after a week in The Cotswolds.
The staff were warm and welcoming and we sat outside in their little garden and enjoyed the sunshine. Could easily have sat inside which was comfortable and inviting.
The menu was very good with excellent vegan and vegetarian options. We went for the Sunday lunch - one veggie and one lamb and both were delicious and home cooked and very reasonably priced. If only we'd had room for pudding!
Would happily recommend and hope to return next time we are in the area.

Super friendly pub with amazing vegetarian/vegan options
Aug 2019 • Couples
We came to The Crewe Arms after having the place recommended for its vegetarian/vegan menu. We were not disappointed! When we arrived the pub was very busy but the staff were extremely accomodating and made us feel very welcome. They were chatty and engaging and made us feel like we were village regulars.

The food options were expansive and we struggled to pick (we're not used to pubs having so many choices for vegetarians), it certainly wasn't what we expected from a village pub out in the countryside. We both settled on the vegan burger which tasted great and came with a generous portion of skin on fries. The staff told us there would be a fair wait on the food due to how busy they were, however the food came out far quicker than we expected!

Would recommend The Crewe Arms to anyone in the local area, we drove over from Brackley which was less than 10 minutes away. You'll be made to feel right at home.

Also they are dog friendly which is an instant 5-star :)

Amazing vegan/veggie menu for a country pub
Sep 2019 • Couples
My partner and I were in the area for a wedding and we're recommended this pub by our Airbnb host because we were looking for some nice vegetarian food, and she was very complimentary about their selection.

The pub is in a lovely little village -very picturesque, and a really nice community feel. Given the location, we weren't expecting such an array of options! The pub has a whole separate vegan and vegetarian menu with a lovely range of meals available. We both chose the vegan burger and thoroughly enjoyed it, especially the green tomato chutney and skin-on fries.

The staff couldn't have been nicer - they warned us there might be a wait as they were busy, and we were fine with that, but we didn't even have to wait long at all!

Would definitely recommend if you're in the area and looking for a nice country pub and excellent veggie food!

Great one night stay on the way to next destination
Feb 2019 • Couples
We arrived quite late in the evening about 7.30 - 8.00 ish in the middle of the week nothing seemed at all. Had a lovely shared starter followed by the most biggest plate of pork ribs then followed by a lovely dessert all in all it was a lovely meal. The room we stayed in a good size only downside for me and my hubby we are used to king size bed and it being a double it felt a little too close after 26 years of marriage. Lovely clean room though the shower was very weak in strength. We dont eat breakfast and was given a complimentary basket some strange things in there - crisps, apple, orange and some biscuits but it was complimentary as they dont do a breakfast. I would return though I think we may not be welcome as we got knocked on about our loudness so the walls are thin.....lol....

Lovely simple supper while staying locally
Feb 2019 • Family
I was staying overnight at a B&B with my daughter and came here for supper. The service was wonderfully friendly and the decor modern country style. There was a varied menu and an additional extensive vegan menu. We really enjoyed the Thai chicken curry and the sausage, mash and gravy - delicious and straightforward pub food. Too full for dessert but there were some great sounding options. I would definitely come again. Thank you.

Meal with a friend, I had ribs and he had the mixed grill. Mixed grill was lovely, however it was served with no chips! Now who doesn’t love a bit of protein but no carbs is a bit odd.
I had the ribs which were a nice cut and very very tender, however they were just a bit odd! The Memphis rub was a bit pasty, and just not that well cooked out. The sweet potato salad was tasty, but the sweet potato was undercooked and a bit hard in the middle. Not perfect but some good ideas and reasonable prices.
