Had a great day out despite it being a little chilly. Lots of animals, great play area and friendly staff. Could benefit from a proper cafe that they could open all year round.

Felt a little cheated. A few goats guinea pigs rabbits 2 donkeys 1 horse few alpacas n llamas. Paid £40 for the privilige for 5 of us & was " done " in under one hour . Really expected a few more animals for kids to experience . Great outdoor area for kids to play and picnic .... spent more time there than the farm . The indoor play area which was huge and absolutely packed looked like a great breeding ground for covid .

Excellent experience. High quality soft play for children of all ages. Petting zoo was clean and animals were well looked after. Play area outside was great too.

We have visited here several times over the last few years.
The last time being last weekend.
It's a perfect place for children to just be children.
We have a daughter with complex additional needs and for us the farm is small enough that she can go to different areas by herself safely without us having to worry.
Not a big deal to many, but a huge deal to a 9 year old who just wants to be like everyone else. It is however big enough to be able to stay for a good few hours.
My children especially love being able to spend time in the goat pen. The goats are so friendly (some handreared) so they are used to the attention. One older goat even sat on my knee when I stopped stroking!
Its a great opportunity for children who wouldn't ordinarily get to spend time with farm animals to gain new experiences.
There is a great assortment of outdoor equipment for children from toddler age upwards and a great playbarn for if the weather turns or you just quite frankly fancy sitting down for a coffee.
Card payments can now be taken which makes a huge difference!
The farm refreshments are minimal (sandwiches, a few cakes, crisps etc )but they do allow picnics and there are no end of picnic benches should you wish to take your own lunch (we always do).
The owners are remarkably accommodating, a while ago when we visited i mentioned my daughter was obsessed with peacocks, the owner went to the aviary and gathered up some discarded peacock feathers, which my daughter very much appreciated.

All in all this is a lovely family run farm which although not as big as some others is personable, welcoming and well worth a visit.

Visited for the first time a few weeks ago with our 4 yr old, no idea why we never came sooner!? What a lovely day out. Lots of animals and my son particularly loved all the climbing frames and indoor play. He was sad to leave! Ample parking, and staff lovely. Will be back

After checking the website I told my 3 year old granddaughter that we would visit the farm. We got to the gates at 10.30am on Friday to see closed gates and a sign saying closed due to covid19. It's disappointing that they haven't updated the website.

After finding the farm online it looks better on the site than in person. Not that many animals it’s very quick to go around... my son did enjoy himself though so that’s the main thing !
We did feel sorry for the goats and cows.. they were absolutely COVERED in flies, constantly twitching and you could see how frustrating it was for them - not the farms fault though. You can buy a bucket of food before you go around which is nice. Cafe serves lovely food & cater for gluten free. The indoor play area is really nice and my son had lots of fun in there. Good value for money.

Rookery Farm is a good day out for families with kids up to 12 years old.
There is ample parking and really reasonable entry prices.
There is a cafe with large indoor soft play for children up to 12 years and a separate soft play for little ones up to 4 years. Toilets are next to the cafe. Rookery Open Farm doesn’t take card payments so you’ll need cash.
The Farm section is great with various caged birds and petting area where you can enter the enclosures to pet/stroke baby goats and rabbits.
You then walk round and see enclosures with, swans, ducks, chickens, turkeys, peacocks, parrots, pigs, sheep, alpacas and donkeys.
There is a huge picnic area with picnic tables and trees so some shade, dotted around the area area various playground equipment and tractors to sit on, there is a sandpit area with diggers, a pedal go kart circuit, mini pedal tractors and 3 large bouncy castles.
The only downside was the lack of card payments, additional toilets and people smoking in the picnic area (maybe more no smoking signs/staff patrolling are needed).
We really enjoyed the visit and will definitely visit again).

Nice afternoon visit with our 2 year old Grandchild. Facilities well presented together with the petting area.
Shame that you cannot use a credit or debit card though?
Luckily I had just about enough to pay our entrance but couldn’t purchase anything from the cafe area so somewhat ruined the visit.
Left me wondering how many people had to leave with upset children because they had no cash?
Come on Rookery get up to date and get card facilities please!
