This is a beautiful plantsmans/womans garden lovingly tended by the Owners and their staff. The garden and associated plant sales are both superb. The cafe/restaurant offers really nice light lunches, the quiche and salad being particularly good. In summary, a great garden for a nice 3-4 hour visit with a great lunch in beautiful Northamptonshire countryside. 100% recommended !

The garden was a delight, large enough to make a trip worth while, well planted and maintained. Enough information and reasonably priced entrance fee and booklet. The cafeteria provided a dirty mug, when asked for a clean one, the next one, straight out of the dishwasher, was not much better. Sticky dirty table and cutlery. The mackerel pate and crusty bread... I found this place on tripadvisor quite a while ago and waited for a perfect sunny weekend to go. The entry price is very reasonable, the gardens are perfectly looked after. It is a very quirky place, the flamingos walk freely in the gardens near the river and don't bother about humans unless you get a little too close for... More

My wife and I spent a lovely couple of hours strolling through the garden before having coffee and a slice of cake before we left. The garden is very picturesque and inspirational to those of us looking to expand our knowledge. I would certainly recommend it to others especially in nice weather when you can take your time to explore... More

The car park is situated on the other side of the road and you have to go down a set of wide steps which makes it difficult for people with pushchairs & buggies to access house & gardens. I was surprised at the number of cars! We paid £7 per person and under 2 were free. The gardens have small... More

Everything about this garden is superb. The planting is inspiring - we are keen gardeners, but we always see plants we haven't seen before, and the excellent labelling means we can identify all the interesting specimens. The cafe is fabulous, serving delicious light lunches and cakes, with their own homemade jam. Rodney the sagacious blue and yellow parrot, is likely... More

As above it is a nice afternoon out and an opportunity to have lunch or tea to accompany your visit. I would recommend checking the web site for opening times and that the best time is spring when the bulbs and bluebells are out in the wood. You can set up an email alert to tell you when the bluebells... More

We live nearby so can visit with ease but it's well worth a longer distance trip. (The large numbers of coaches in the car park testify to this.) The gardens are a mixture of relaxing terraces and winding pathways. There are extensive lawns perfect for picnics - and for watching the flamingos also relaxing by the stream. The woods are...
