I really like heritage and my parents live in the Northampton area so we had to visit. It was a nice trip but a little short at present. I believe that there are plans to extend it in the future. Will definitely be back.

great atmosphere and very friendly as everybody is a volunteer, they worked their socks off .great value and thanks. as for wackywomans review further down if everyone was as miserable it was probably because of you.instead of critisising unpaid volunteers try and be a little bit more constructive with your comments!!!!!!

This was a New Years Day visit. The carriages were pulled by a diesel rather than a steamer but that was no problem. Ticket office, volunteers costumes and station decoration very authentic. Very friendly little railway ideal for families. Hopefully they will keep that if they get bigger.

New Years Day 2016, having been the night before welcoming in the New Year at Sedgebrook Hall, we decided to take the short trip on the old railway just down the road. It was the last day it was running before closing until March. We were treated to mince pie and sherry whilst enjoying a nostalgic trip up and down... More

We took our grandchildren (3 and 5) for a visit to see Santa and have a ride on the steam train. It was nicely organised, with colouring for the children while waiting to see Santa, and then afterwards, a trip up and down the track while we ate mince pies and had a glass of sherry (biscuits and soft drinks... Great place to walk or to visit if you need to fill some time and like trains. We have also been to the 'war weekend/1940's weekend' they host which is just such fun. The little café/food place does some nice snacks and a hot cuppa at pretty good prices or you can walk round to the Brampton halt for a... More

Pleasant trip out; friendly staff. Fun trip but still needs a lot of renovation as not much track to go on. Model railway good.

Only a short line but still a very evocative ride on a steam train which we thoroughly enjoyed. The catering was very acceptable and a very reasonable price. Our grandson particularly enjoyed talking to the two chaps who were running the model railway - he has one of his own and was inspired by their layout. The weather was abysmal... More

99.9 percent of the volunteers miserable as sin, showing little or no enthusiasm for their railway as I witnessed at over 100 others I have visited with my steam nerd of a partner. Put me off ever going back. Unfriendly unwelcoming and felt like they thought they were doing us a favor !
