Went on father's day as a bit of a treat. The staff (volunteers) make this all worthwhile. I will never cease to be amazed at their enthusiaism and effort. Loveley guy who works there at the very young age of 71 plays walking football as a goalkeeper. He loves working there and chatting, just a wholesome experience, doesn't cost a... More

Stayed at Sedgebrook Hall for the weekend and found this place by accident ! We got there just in time to buy a platform ticket and watch the train go off on its journey ! It was a blast from the past. We had a mug of tea in a carriage at the station it was great. There was a... More

We decided to visit the Northampton and Lamport railway. It cost us just over £17 for 4 of us. For a 10 minute mini train drive for this price . 2 mins drive up the track and a 3.5 min drive the other way a few times. This is more like a scrape yard. We made the most of a... More

Good visit on a steam day. Seemed a bit low on volunteers and full credit to the hard work of those who were doing a great job. Just like the real railway there were delays, this time because of "the wrong sort of coal" which prevented them getting up steam in time. We were in no hurry and visited their... More

My wife and I were on our way to Lamport Hall and Kelmarsh Hall and stopped off to have a look at NLR and we were impressed by the friendly and helpful volunteers. On this Sunday May 1st they were having a Teddy Bear Special (adults £4.90...Children Free Bringing a Teddy) which appeared to us that all the families were... More

We visited the NLR on a bank holiday. They had a teddy bear special and any child with a teddy got to travel for free. The tickets are reasonably priced as adults are only £4.90 and you can travel as many times as you like (they charge £3.90 for children on normal days). The track is short and you go... More

Its only a short line at present , so a trip does not last long . People who volunteer are positive and made it a good experience to potter for a few hours . Had a massive chip butty in the carnage that is the cafe , daughter loved that . Pleasant best sums it up to me but if... More

Took the grandchildren here to take them on the steam train for easter...they recieved a cream egg which was nice and the trip on the steam train was nice and they enjoyed it. Was a little disappointed that the model railway wasnt open on a bank holiday so apart from the train ride there wasnt much else to do.... I... More

I really like heritage and my parents live in the Northampton area so we had to visit. It was a nice trip but a little short at present. I believe that there are plans to extend it in the future. Will definitely be back.
