A lovely outing. Very interesting, relaxing & informative.

I thought the young blonde lady with glasses who showed us around the house was absolutely excellent. I wish her the very best in her M.A. studies. The house & gardens are easily accessible from the main road - we travelled on the X7 bus & found it a very easy journey. The nearby Swan Pub/Bistro is also highly recommended.... More

My friend and I spent a very enjoyable hour perusing the art and craft stalls in the stable block at Lamport Hall. Beautiful handmade goods, generally priced accordingly. Also enjoyed visiting the small working horse museum in the old tack room (FOC)

It is a pity that Lamport Hall is only open for three hours on a Wednesday or Thursday afternoon, as there is so much to see and enjoy. A guided tour is obligatory and that took 75 minutes. We enjoyed exploring the little church on the opposite side f the road and also visiting the gardens. The trustees have done... More

This was a return visit to this lovely place. As Friends of Historic Houses we had free entry into the house and garden. We checked the website to see if there were events as we went over the late May Bank Holidayand there was the country fair so prior to our visit I checked by email if we could still... More

Was a lovely day out but very disappointed that to go in the house was more money. The advert was quite misleading as it said house and grounds open both days but omitted to say it was full price to go in after already paying for the fayre.Maybe a reduced price for people attending the event

Visited the Antique and Collectors fair. An interesting selection of items for sale and wagons with food and drink.

My wife and I visited Lamport Hall last October but as we had visited Kelmarsh Hall earlier and only 10 mins away we thought worth again (free as HHA member, rejoined £75.00..visited 25 properties last year). This Sunday 1st of may it was flow through the hall where as last time it was timed tours so we were able to... More

We had travelled here intending to go to the Antiques Fair that was being held on site, but decided to visit the house instead. Pleased we changed our minds!! Highlights for us were; the extremely friendly, helpful and informative guides; seeing the oldest gnome in the world, which was much smaller than we'd imagined and a lovely inexpensive tea in... We visited on a sunny Bank Holiday Monday afternoon, using our new HHA card, and were surprised not to find more visitors. This is a fascinating stately home with many examples of fine pictures by famous artists and beautiful rooms. They may not have the wow factor of some places but they represent the quirky family that was the Ishams.... More

Used my HHA membership for my visit. This magnificent hall developed from an early Tudor manor. Home of the Isham family, who made their furniture from wool, for over 400 years and packed with all sorts of interesting artefacts, paintings, books and furniture. The tour is well worth going on as the guides are very friendly and informative. The gardens... More
