Not the usual country house experience; much more of a human scale and homely feeling. Both the interior and grounds were well worth visiting. Do not miss the unique three seater toilet or the rockery. Friendly, helpful staff and a warm welcome. Will return.

Nowhere near Daventry, which is what Tripadvisor might lead you to believe. Much closer to Northampton, Kettering or Market Harborough. Also, I would suggest that you key NN6 9EZ into your satnav, not the postcode that Tripadvisor provide. We went there for their Steam and...More

This is only a stones throw away from the Lamport Swan and has such a beautiful house, once owned by Sir Giles Isham's family. The gardens are well worth a visit also and there are often antique/craft fairs and other things going on here.

Visited to gardens only (as the hosue was closed) they were well laid out and we fairly interesting, however there was no one around to answer questions. The rockery with the gnomes was OK, but not really more than that, being in need of weeding!...More

We were invited to a tour and lunch here, it was such a suprise to see this lovely home and 'Lampy' the original gnome. The gardens are lovely and its good to have a guide here to tell you about the history of these gardens.

Summer bank holiday weekend, so we decided to visit Lamport Hall. We arrived around midday and found the house and gardens closed initially, to our surprise. There was an antiques fair on which we visited, cost was £4 x person including car park. We didnt...More
