Some nice puzzles, and really enthusiastic owners
Jun 2021 • Friends
I do feel terrible giving this a 3* because of the sheer enthusiasm of the owners who are delightful to talk to and have a real passion for escape rooms.

There are some fab puzzles, and you will certainly have a good time, but the quality of the set/props/storyline, especially for the price does not come close to what we are used to (but this is game 118 Internationally, and having run my own room).

You are limited with what you can do in a rented building, and conceptually a 'wizard school' sort of idea has potential, ie. You can get away with some period furniture, but set that alongside laminated props, and modern bits and pieces and it lacks the consistency which gives going into a purpose built game its magic. The story is also not strong enough to make the setting truly immersive, especially when you compare it to rooms where you feel you are walking into a film set.

However, what it lacks refinement it makes up for in customer service and creativity and breath of puzzles.

For first timers, it's a fun challenge, and more experienced gamers will appreciate the passion of the owner, but overall for set and style, it needs more polish to level up.

Best one I've been to
Dec 2020 • Friends
We booked our households birthday outing to this escape room and it was a great choice!

We were politely met at the door by the staff member working that day, forgive me for not being able to remember his name (but he was a very well spoken chap) and were then directed to keep the place COVID secure etc etc.

Everything was perfectly explained! My partner had never been before but was well prepared after our brief, the guy was great.

Finally, onto the main bit, the room was awesome! We chose to do the Jekyll & Hyde arena and it didn't disappoint, it had some really good ideas and clues and was very well put together! ... Best one I've been too yet

We shall certainly be coming back 👏

Two escape rooms for 21st birthday treat
Nov 2020 • Family
This was the 11th/12th escape room we had tried as a family - and we were looking to continue our streak of successful escapes to 12 by the end.

We didn't really need the introduction - having done quite a few - although others might.

The first room had some unique puzzles and some similar to other rooms. A good combination of locks (keys and combination) were used - no directional locks though.

One room required a sense of smell - difficult to negotiate if you've got a cold or no sense of smell - but the host stepped in appropriately when they realised we had a problem.

The second room requires some athleticism from one member of the team. The puzzles were very clever and some were unique.

We did manage to escape from both rooms within the allotted hour.

All in all a good pair of rooms and a good experience.

Birthday escape room

Me and my friend did the Houdini room which was great fun. The first stage of the room was really unique and tests your team work skills! The room was mostly suitable for smaller groups - perhaps 2 -3 people. The customer service was excellent and it was clear a lot of thought had gone into the room.

Great fun

A really fun experience. Not done one before and we were beaten by the clock by 51 seconds, but it was fun and well organised.
Its actually located up a side street opposite the Tesco Metro store, it took us a while to find it!
Would certainly do another :-)

We did both of the rooms and they were brilliant. Houdini was so unique and Jekyll was tonnes of fun!

Good fun, well worth it!!

We enjoyed the Dr Jekyll room so much we also did the Houdini room too. We were not disappointed. They were both very interesting and got our brains working, but had a touch of humour!!

It was very friendly and well organised. The rooms were cleaned after each group and no groups met so we felt very safe.

Would definitely recommend to anyone!! 😁

Really good fun, right on your doorstep Northampton!
Jul 2020
Visited on Sunday 5th July and was really impressed with the originality and inventiveness of the Jekyll and Hyde room!

There were some really interesting puzzles and concepts so we'd like to go back and play the other room.

COVID wise, it was really clean, the host kept their distance and we felt safe and well looked after.

The only downside was that the host took a little too long to respond when we solved a couple of the puzzles, leading us to think we hadn't solved them and wasting a few minutes still trying to figure them out. However, I'm only writing that because I wouldn't want it to keep happening to others so it should be highlighted, but it didn't detract from our 5 star rating :)

We completed the room in 42 minutes but give yourselves 2 hours to complete it and get there and back to your car if you're paying for parking.

At £19 each it was an expensive 42 minutes but it's worth it considering you're only going to do it once. It would be good if they offer discounts to go back to their other rooms.
