To think that Becket’s park is right in Northampton town center considering how quiet the park was is mildly surprising. It is a traditional park alongside the bank of the River Nene. It has the canal running through and you can watch the barges passing by.
The park has large open areas and a small play area for the little ones. The marina is next to the park and can be viewed after crossing a bridge.

Northampton is full of parks, large and small, this is a smaller park, close to town centre, so on a pleasant weather day is nice to sit in and have a snack.

I said to a friend of mine to visit this place, as she was in Northampton. It was raining that particular day. So hopefully next time she'll visit with her kids. As it is a peaceful and easy to get too. I love it around here🙂

On a recent visit to Northampton, stopped at this park for some fresh air and a leg stretch. It was a fine sunny day and this park was well kept, clean and close to the town and shopping - so its good to have a snack. Very Peaceful.

To think that Beckets park is right in Northampton town centre considering how quiet the park was is mildly surprising. We parked our car in the adjacent parking area, free on Sunday, and walked a decent area of the park,a fair bit of it hugging the River Nene where the occasional barge passed us.The park has large open areas and a small play area for the little ones...the marina is next door to the park and can be viewed after crossing a bridge. The park is dog friendly and there are several bins around the park too....and quite a few places to sit...a nice little park a few minutes from the A45/A428 junction.visited 24th August 2017.

It’s a very quiet park with lots of swans canal boats and a play area. Not very big to walk around though.

Becket's park is well within the town centre and hence basically it is a not a country park but a park within town.
It is very good for a short walk after shopping (You have Morrisons just next door, NHS opposite this park)
It has river Nene flowing through, can see some boats, ducks
Nice way to spend time with kids playing within town centre

This park has been overlooked and the poor relation in a park hierarchy in town.
I love this park:
1. It is on the edge of the town centre
2. It has the canal running through it
3. Boasts sculpture artwork
4. Provides access to the marina
5. Offer peace and quiet
Great little park and now host to the beer festival!
