Appalling Park and ride service
Nov 2021 • Couples
Waited over an hour and not one single number 7 park and ride bus on the road. Tried calling the telephone number on the website however it is switched off. Still waiting in the cold and I walked up to a different stop in hope of finding a bus however no luck, over 20 people stood in each bus stop waiting for the park and ride. Disgusting that they take your money and deliver no service. Will not be using this again. Still no sign of any bus, ironic that the bus poster states each ten minutes but obviously this is all lies (picture attached). I arrived at the bus stop at 15:46. It is now 17:10 and not one number 7 bus has been past either way.

Perfect, regular, eco-friendly. An ideal way to visit York.

Personally, I think this is the best way to visit York! Park the car at Rawcliffe Bar, less than £3 for a return ticket. Buses every 10 minutes during the day... what's not to like! York have pretty much nailed the idea of Park and Ride for me.

Never again

Really poor . Used the number 3 today for the first time. Both going in and out of York took almost half an hour to arrive . The bus time charts are not honest or accurate. 3 times it said a bus was due and then they just don’t arrive . Never again.

Good Value

A good service provided from Rawcliffe. £10 for 5adults plus kids. Super value.
However was crowded and had to stand both ways. Surprised when the bus made a couple of stops en route. Thought it would just be straight to the centre of York. The bus ends on Museum St. which is close to the minster.

Great service and electric buses.

Used Askham Bar. Very frequent service with pleasant drivers. Just wish it opened till later at night. Cost us £27 for a taxi back to our Travelodge as couldn't use the Park and Ride that day.

I live in York and have used the Rawcliffe Bar park and ride over the years but it is not cheap if more than one adult travel together the site looks neglected ,no staff on site no tourist information and no working gents toilets. Altogether not what I would expect from a city who promotes bus travel

After checking on the internet we found the designer outlet park&ride was best for us as it was open till late on a Sunday. When coming off the roundabout for designer outlet park&ride make sure you take the right hand lane for the park&ride a left takes you to the outlet, thousands of parking spaces and the bus was waiting for us on arrival. We came from city centre at 8pm on a Sunday night we had to wait about 20 minutes for our bus.Would use again.

Amazing

I think the park and ride in York is amazing. It saves worrying about where to park and the cost is very cheap and works out cheaper for the three of us to travel this way (2 adults and 1 teenager) than parking in a city centre car park. The staff are always helpful and accept that my daughter is only 15 even though she is 6 foot tall and looks over 18. The buses are always clean and during Covid when buses were allowed to run, they kept to the social distancing rules and masks were worn. I have been travelling this way for many years and will continue to do so.

Great way to travel into York to save on cost.

We use park & ride regularly to visit Chester, so it was our first thought when planning to meet relatives in York on a Sunday afternoon. We parked at the McArthur Glen Outlet Village. Plenty of car park spaces even though it was the school holidays, a weekend & a busy shopping outlet. Loved the ride on an electric bus, very smooth. Would highly recommend, although it would be nice if the timetable ran into the evening during the summer, so we could have stayed for an evening meal in the City. On the whole a great way to save on car parking charges.

Only interested in their timetable and targets
Aug 2021 • Family
Queued up for a bus, when we got to the front of the queue, driver from the bus behind stopped us getting on and told us we had to wait for the next bus as this one was late leaving. There was no one behind us and would have taken us 30 seconds to get on, but driver not interested in giving customer service, just targets for buses leaving.
