If a must in your visit to York. Staff are really nice, the only thing is that some folks were a little bit rude with us, it seems that they didn’t want foreign people around there.

Unfortunately we don't get to York often enough, but this pub is an essential part of any trip. Good range of beers, Bradfield pale was fine for me, warm welcome and the small rooms create an atmosphere that encourage conversation. Look forward to next visit.

Could this be the friendliest pub in England? As soon as you enter you receive a warm welcome from the friendly landlord. The pub is tiny and groups are not allowed so the atmosphere is friendly and conducive to conversation. The interior is straight from...More

no tv's in the pub at all plus , as it's two very small bars , they don't allow groups in - there is a sports bar on the corner across the road
