Really nice national trust house on the outskirts of York. Really lovely garden, fascinating house telling the story of the Terry's chocolate family in an arts and crafts house. Lovely cafe with tasty and very reasonably priced food. Note there is only disabled parking at...More

Beautiful well maintained gardens, house a little boring, went round quickly, no parking so needed to park round the corner. I think if I was not a member would not want have paid the entrance fee too much. All the volunteers were friendly and helpful.

The house was smaller than we expected (not a Stately Home) but it's easy to get around and the gardens are lovely. It feels like a family home and there are still games and toys in the games room. The gardens are lovely and it's...More

The National Trust regional office is housed in this Walter Brierley Arts and Crafts house built for Noel Terry. Not only is this a very good specimen of its kind but there is also an interesting - mainly wooded - garden. An enjoyable experience.

This house used to belong to the Terry's family of Terry's chocolate fame (think chocolate oranges). Their factory was where the race course is now. It is an interesting house with mementoes and history of Terry's chocolate company including a film of when the Queen...More

A charming house built in 1928 with a lovely garden. The weather was perfect the day we walked from Middlethorpe Hall.

Really interesting hose, friendly guides , shame the original furniture was shipped off to Fairfax House though ( why?). Lovely intimate gardens with race course and Terry Tower to rear.

Electric scooters are allowed in the house but there is no lift so only the ground floor is accessible with an electric scooter.
