For a railway worth a visit. Directly behind the railway station, which has lovely old ornaments and structures, is the Railway Museum. Here you can find out about the architectural history of the station. Also, bus tours around city of York drive off in front of the main entrance of the station. From London, York can be reached in 3... More

Hi All. This is a very big station with up to 12, platforms & it gets very busy with all the trains arriving around the same time, which gives people time to change and make important changes onto other destinations. Outside the station numerous bus services also call to pick up & drop off passengers too. The destinations served are... More

What an attaction a Railway station can be? York Railway station I think is a nice piece of architecture. The building itself and surrounding tap room and other buildings are worth viewing. Just combine it with a trip by train or on your way to the National Railway museum

Nice to see a station that's clean and airy for a change unlike the dirty grimey ones such as Leeds. Huge platforms and a few bars very close by

This is a gorgeous looking station and very easy to use. There are plenty of information boards, help desk, places to eat, a pub, drop off point right outside and plenty of parking. Within walking distance (few minutes) of the city centre. It is clean and the staff are very friendly.

A grand old Victorian station really does look amazing from a distance, the front and side are nice and if you are a train buff it's a must visit. But unfortunately it's full of modern day shops, it's dirty and unwelcoming, there are a couple of smaller coffee shops which are nice, but WH Smiths and Burger King etc. are... More

Ok so did not actually spend a lot of time here, just arriving and then departing, but was one of the better stations I have been at and the staff where friendly and helpful and knowledgeable. I do believe there are jigsaws ( sure I've spent time as a child doing one ) of it in it's Victorian era ?... More
