This is one of York's best attractions. The staff are great fun and really get into character. We laughed the whole time. Audience participation is a must. We've visited Edinburgh dungeons but York tops that.

This was the best experience of our entire holiday!!! Thought Jorvik was good but this was so much better - a bit like Horrible Histories on steroids! All the actors were great, although the plague nurse was the best (and the creepiest!) Worth every penny!

After visiting Edinburgh and Blackpool Tower Dungeons, which I found to be similar in style and theme, the York Dungeon blows them all away. They dare to be different and are much better for it. Would highly recommend.

This is not suitable for children under about the age of ten or children with a nervous disposition as it is very dark inside which adds to the atmosphere and it also has times when the lights go out completely for short periods.

If you don't do anything else in York, do this. Admission for over 10 Yrs, which I think is correct. Despite English being my children's second language, the acting made it easier to stay focussed.

This attraction is so entertaining. It's very informative about York's history and the actors are brilliant and involve the audience all through the tour. The special effects are fab, especially the leeches in the seats!
