How the upper crust lived.

The docents here are very informative and friendly, they made the lovely house come alive. It is well preserved and light and airy.

This is a very interesting Georgian House in the Centre of York. It has been lovingly restored and is well worth a visit. There are plenty of very helpful guides dotted around to give you information on the history and are happy to answer any questions. Maybe not a suitable place for small children. A very quick visit just before leaving York. Excellent guides. Would go back again and take longer so we could appreciate all the house has to offer

I actually like this sort of thing and have no problem chatting to strangers so enjoyed this novel way of finding out info about each room, and actually found that I retained the info and engaged a lot... Very close to the city centre and a fascinating place to visit. Looks a bit 'dour' from the outside - don't be put off.

I like the plasterwork the furniture. The guide was well informed and and very interested in passing their knowledge on.
