York Terror Trail, a history tour of the horrors of York. There is a monster, 1900 years old, thousands have died in its name. Like all the best masters of disguise it’s gone by many names: Eboracum, Eoforvic, Jorvic… today we just call it York. It has many weapons: battles, murders, terrible accidents and deliberate neglect. This city has two sides, the one it wants you to see and the one it doesn’t. It hides it down back streets and in the corner of your eye. We shouldn’t want to see it but we do. The terror trail can show it to you…The tour starts 6.45pm every night from York’s most haunted pub the Golden Fleece Inn.Adults: £5Children: £2

Very different to what I thought it would be like. Summer not the best time to visit, as it doesn't add to the atmosphere. Damien a very good actor told stories about the terrors that happened in york. Very informative and group work was entertaining. Made me laugh alot. My partner was also involved in participating. He enjoyed it too.... More

We deliberately chose this tour because of the historical aspect of it. Wasn't interested in seeing "The Most Haunted [INSERT LOCATION] of York." Our tour guide, James, was fantastic! He somehow made the icky things that people did entertaining. He involved both of my daughters (ages 13 and 8) in some of the stories and they thought that was very... More

I loved the ghost tour !!! Highlight of my York journey! I know loads of information about York now and it's so fascinating! Sometimes historic talks can be quite dull and boring but this was full of excitement and you are so intrigued on what history you will find out next!!! LOVED IT Must see if go to York !!!... More

We visited York with a couple of overseas visitors from Australia and wanted to do a ghost tour. This is not a ghost tour but we definitely made the right choice for our party. Our guide Damian made the tour enjoyable, interesting, factual and a little disturbing at times. It's ages since I've held hands and skipped. All topped of... More

We enjoyed this. You hover around the front of the Golden Fleece until a sizeable crowd gathers, and a tour guide. It was easy to find not far from the shambles. We had a nice sized crowd, about 20 or so. We had a bit of a walk about and he stopped to tell a story every few streets or... More

Probably the best walk we have done, the guide was absolutely amazing, I cant remember his name but he was wearing his grandads Raf uniform. The tour is not the normal gohst walk that you are used too. They deal in the facts and history of York and is more of a historical tour of your with Street theatre mixed... More

Thomas Teach our Guide was a hoot and a holler as well as full of amazing information about York & its brutal past. This is different to the many Ghost Walks that are advertised and I would highly recommend going on this as well as one of the Ghost Walks. If you don't then you are missing out. Highly enjoyed... Step 1 for a perfect night out in York - head over to the Golden Fleece pub - its apparently the most haunted in York. Enjoy a delish dinner and then join the Terror Trail walk that departs from in front of the Golden Fleece at 6:45 for step 2. Tourguide Damien was witty and entertaining while telling amazing true... Had a great time on this tour! As recommended through one of Rick Steves' tour books, we decided to give it a chance. Started off at the Golden Fleece (great place to grab a pint and traditional pub fare) and we were off on our journey! Our guide walked us through York on a tour that was not only historically...
