A great way to entertain kids and adults alike with facts and figures. The pseudo holographic show was excellent (for adults mostly) whilst the kids explored fossilised poo! What fun.

My children loved this! You get taken round by a guide to 'excavate four pits from different periods. Good for families. Children had fun and learnt something.

Although more aimed at children my partner and I (mid twenties) had a fantastic time! It's definitely what you make it. The staff were absolutely lovely and made everyone feel involved. They were also extremely knowledgeable about all of the areas of the tour and...More

Over sold, 5 mins and you're ready to leave. Wouldn't recommend. Not up to the standard of other attractions in York

This attraction is only meant for Junior children, but there is an exhibition that can be viewed for a reduced fee that details the finds through the centuries at the dig site

We visited here in May half term with our two boys 4 & 7. They loved the digs and the assessing finds. I fail to understand how people say it is expensive, we thought it was very reasonable given prices of many other attractions. Lots...More

Personally I think the Dig centre is really aimed at children and school trips. However, my husband and I have been and there is still a lot of interesting information. Best not to try and go in school holidays!

the activity lasts about an hour but then there are other interactive things to do and other exhibits to look at. so could be anywhere between 1 and 3 hours depending in your age and level of interest
