The guys that put this together both on and off the stage need a massive applause. It was a really great pop-up experience. Enough going on outside the venue to keep you entertained/fed/watered for half an hour before the play started and the performance itself...More

We have seen three of the four plays and riveted on each occasion. York needs more of this kind of theatrical experience. Come back please!! Acting, direction and production all excellent. Why not convert Clifford's Tower??!!

A lovely experience for a young niece and grandson to help them get into Shakespeare’s world. V well organised and an enthusiastic approach to The Dream.

So I did Shakespeare at school and just didn't get it. But, thanks to the interpretation, acting and staging of ,'Romeo and Juliet' I now do. Fantastically enjoyable production, remarkable value in the groundling area (standing), standing next to the stage really brought the action...More

We bought tickets for this venue whilst it is in York and we celebrated two family birthdays. This pop up theatre is a replica of the Globe theatre and was amazing to see. There is an outside area with places to eat drink and buy...More

Got a good deal from a local radio station. Theatre impressive, but even though we had VIP seats, we struggled to hear the text probably owing to strong regional accents. Why choose a woman to play the very masculine part of Mercutio? There were wild...More

The Rose Theatre is an impressive structure. We had front row seats on the top level, (£50) excellent view, can hear all the words, can’t comment on the view further back. The groundlings either sat, or lent on the sides or stage. We took cushions...More

I don't think so - certainly there were none when I visited. Plenty of folk sitting on the ground with blankets and some standing around the edges. Probably best to send query to the site to confirm
