The Ghostwalk was established before 1973 and was an original creation believed to be the first in the world. We promise a unique opportunity to discover the hidden magic of our ancient City through the real art of storytelling. Tales are drawn from the immense history of York and are told against a backdrop of haunting beauty. We walk in the very footsteps of those who have passed before.

Originally went on this ghost walk many years ago with my wife. Now we've returned with our daughter and this is still the best around. No gimmicks, just good old fashioned story telling at its best. Ray still knows how to bring a chill. My daughter loved it, so did we.

Was a good hours spent walking (at great speed) around York. We met outside the Kings Arms pub and where given a potted history of some of the more unusual and eerie facts of York. It was more informative thank scary, funny in parts, and the 13 yr old started to lose interest near the end. Lasted just over an... More

I love Ghost Tours and as it turned out this was the only one that we were able to make in our 2 wks in the UK. Before we decided on the tour I had reviewed all that was available and this one had all the best things to recommend it so we showed up and again along the river... More

We met at the Kings arms and right on time Mark Graham arrived from the Kings Arms. Enjoyment from his first words. We walked around smiling from start to finish with informative anecdotes interspersing ghost tales. Some gruesome some funny but lots of wishes at the end. You need to do the walk to find out about the wishes. We... More

Follow Patrick through a Ghost history of York. Listen to him, follow him across the tiny streets of this beautiful town. You will get a different look over all the small typical houses, expecting to meet one of the fabulous characters of the ghost tales. A very original / environmental friendly way of discovering the city.

The tour guide, Chris, was great. It was entertaining from the beginning to the end. It was raining all night yet Chris still gave us his best. Our 3 pounds pp were well spent. If you are looking for something to do at night in York, believe me this is one thing that you should do.

The walk commences from the Kings Arms pub next to the river and finishes by the Treasurer's house behind York Minster. The narrator, Chris Newton, commences with a story close to the starting point at which time one has an option of paying or walking away. The charge is £5 for adults and £3 for children. The tour was to... More

Patrick gave a great performance and was able to capture the history of the area as well as give good stories of the ghosts in the area. With so many rivaling ghost tours it was hard to choose which ones. We did one other and this was by far the better tour. Highly recommended.

This is a must if visiting York, and a low-cost activity (5 pounds for adults, and 3 pounds for kids and students). The group meets in front of the King's Arms Pub at 8PM every night. There is a sign by the pub, and you'll notice several others people waiting for the tour standing around it or around the area... More
