This blue flag beach is always clean, and at low tide one can walk along it from Whitby to Sandsend. This is a proper sandy beach,(not pebbly like some).

The beach here is lovely and clean. It's kept to a very high standard and the areas allowed for dogs are marked clearly. We were very impressed by it and wold make the effort to go just for that.

Never tire of walking from Whitby to Sandsend. Only a 6 mile round trip, but well worth it. Especially helped with a stop off for coffee at the Beach café in Sandsend.

Whitby beach obviously a must if you have kids in tow. The beach is large . Amazingly we meet people who tell us they were not aware of a beach location in Whitby.

Lovely sandy beach, lifeguards in summer months, no dogs allowed on beach summer months. Donkey rides, deck chair hire and ice cream van on beach when tides out.

May to october no dogs on west side but dogs can use the east side beaches (beneath the abbey) all year round which at low tide are fantastic
